The undersigaed states aad affirms that he or she is desirous of constructing,
renovatiag, adding to or reroofiag his or h�er owa domicile, that he or she
actually occupies, or will occupy by � said domicile, and same is aot for
reat, lease or sale. That he or she shall �comply with the following conditions:
1. That the owner and he or she aloae ahalil act as the builder for all phases of
coastructioa.
2. That the owner will comply with all pro isions of the City of Zephyrhills
ordiaances and codes pertiaeat to the b�ildiag.
3. That ia the event various phases of con�struction are subcoatracted, he will
engage only properly liceased subcoatr�ctors and will personally supervise
such work.
4. That in the eveat the Building Inspector shall require corrections to be made,
the owaer will assume full respoasibili�ty to insure they are made, aad upoa
completion will call for a reinspectio� before proceediag with the building.
5. That the owner ahall assume full respoasibility for the construction and will
not expect supervisioa of his work from the City of Zephyrhills Buildiag
Departmeat.
6. That prior to final inspection aay additional fees, including reiaspection
fees, must be paid ia full. A written request from this office shall
constitute an official aotice to pay additioaal fees.
7. That the owner shall comply with all C��ty, State aad Federal laws in regard to
social security, workman's compensation, lien laws, etc. , where applicable.
8. That the owaer shall comply with all tlie safety codes issued by the Florida
Industrial Commissioa.
9. State law requires construction to be done by liceased coatractors. You have
applied for a permit under an exemptioa� to that law. The exemptioa allows
you, as the owaer of your property, to act as your owa coatractor with certaia
restrictioas even though you do aot have a licease. You must provide direct
oasite supervisioa of the coastructioa yourself. You may build or improve a
one-family or two-family residence or a farm outbuilding. You may also build
or improve a commercial buildiag, provi�ded your costs do aot exceed $75,000.
The building or resideace must be for your owa use or occupancy. It may not
be built or aubstantially improved for sale or lease. If you sell or lease a
building you have built or substaatially improved yourself withia 1 year after
the coastructioa is complete, the law will presume that you built or
substantially improved if for sale or lease, which is a violatioa of this
exemption. You may aot hire an ualicea�sed persoa to act as your contractor or
to supervise people workiag oa your bu�lding. It is your respoasibility to
make sure that people employed by you have licenses required by state law and
by county or municipal liceasing ordinaaces. You may aot delegate the
respoasibility for supervising work to a licensed contractor who is not
licensed to perform the work beiag done. Any person working oa your buildiag
who is not liceased must work under your direct supervisioa aad must be
employed by you, which means that you must deduct F.I.C.A. and withholding tax
and provide workers' compensation for that employee, all as prescribed by law.
Your coastruction must comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, building
codes, aad zonia re lations.
