AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY' COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA AMENDING ORDINANCE 1179-12, THE
PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD, SPECIFICALLY
AMENDING SECTION 3 TO ADJUST MEMBERSHIP, TERMS, AND
INITIAL APPOINTMENTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council created a parks and recreation advisory board to review an
parks and recreation facilities and programs in our community and to recommend possibl
improvements to the City Council, May_or_and Cit_y_Manager;-and— —
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to hay
additional members on this Board to assure a comprehensive range of community representation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED, AND ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIl .
OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA,THAT "Ordinance 1179-12, Section 3" i
hereby amended as follows:
"SECTION 3: There shall be five seven board mmbers and two alternates on this board, all o
which shall be registered voters of the City of Zehyrhil1s. They shall be appointed by the Cit
Council and shall serve for two.three year staggred terms. There shall be initially appointed
three two members,for 1 year and 6 months; two members for 6 months. Initially one alternat
shall be appointed for 1.6 years and one alternate shall be appointed for 6 months. There shall b
Seven board members on this board, all of which shall be residents of the Cit,�of Zephyrhills
They shall be nominated and appointed by the majority vote of City Council and shall serve foi
three yearggered terms. There shall be initially appointed two members for three years: thred
members for two years, and two members for one year. The initial appointment will be mad
prior
to the initial installment me„t in December 2012. This Board shall have appointments made
prior to the annual installment in June of each year. Board members and alternates may be
removed by the City Council as necessary due to cause."
This Ordinance shall become effective upon passage on the second reading and signing by the
Mayor.
