ORDINANCE NO. 1221-14
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, A
MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AMENDING SECTION 51.075(A)(3), AND
(6) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING WATER,
WASTEWATER AND RECLAIMED WATER RATES; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY,REPEALER, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the City Council received the Final Report for the FY 2012 Water&Wastewater
Rate Study by Burton&Associates,which has identified the rates, fees, and charges necessary to
provide a financially sound and self-supporting water utility; and
WHEREAS,the proposed increases in rates proposed in that study provide the City with the
ability to address the waterwater treatment plant debt service, PILOT expenses, and provide
funding for Utility CIP improvements; and
WHEREAS,the City Council desires to clarify water usage charges for potable irrigation by
meter size and tiered consumption rates; and
WHEREAS,this ordinance does not enact rate increases and only clarifies potable irrigation
rates for implementation by staff.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills,
Florida, as follows:
Section 1. Section 51.075(A)(3), and(6) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Zephyrhills,
Florida shall be amended to read as follows:

Section 2. Repealer.
Any ordinance and/or resolution, or part of any ordinance and/or resolution, in conflict herewith -
is hereby repealed to the extent of any conflict.
Section 3. Severability.
It is declared to be the intent of the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, that if any
section, subsection, sentence, clause, or provision of this Ordinance shall be declared invalid, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall be construed as not having contained said section, subsection,
sentence, clause, or provision and shall not be affected by such holding.
Section 4. Inclusion in Code.
The provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Land Development
Code of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida. The sections of this Ordinance may be renumbered or
re-lettered and the word"ordinance"may be changed to "section", "article" or such other
appropriate word or phrase in order to accomplish such.
Section 5. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall become effective on February 1, 2014 for FY 2014; the rates for all
subsequent years shall become effective on October 1 of said fiscal year.
