A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ZEPHYRHILLS,
FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING KATHLEEN BURNSIDE FOR HER YEARS
OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS AND DESIGNATING
THE CHILDREN'S SECTION OF THE ZEPHYRHILLS LIBRARY
FROM THIS DAY FORWARD TO BE KNOWN AS THE KATHLEEN
BURNSIDE CHILDREN'S LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, Kathleen Burnside began her tenure with the City of Zephyrhills 33 years ago i
the Library; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen holds the honor of being the City's longest serving employee in th
Library serving under Donalda Kelly until her retirement and then becoming head librarian i
1997; and
WHEREAS, as a strong proponent of expanding the Library Services, Kathleen supporte
joining the Pasco County Library Cooperative; and
WHEREAS, she also supported salvaging and refurbishing an old railroad car and opening th
old railroad depot as a museum and expansion of the current library and
WHEREAS, under her leadership the children's library program has expanded and is include
in the summer library program; and
WHEREAS, she nurtured the volunteer program at the library and as a department directo
coordinated the City's volunteer appreciation activities for nine years
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills
Florida in.regular duly assembled, finds it appropriate to designate the Children's Section of th
Zephyrhills ui9, ibrary as the Kathleen Burnside Children's Library from this 11th day o
May, 20Q9 rt .
