A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE CESSATION OF A
DROUGHT CONDITION, AND HALTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 1034-09.
WHEREAS, on June 13, 2011 the Governor of the State of Florida issued Executiv
Order No. 11-28, declaring that a state of emergency exists in the State of Florida due to th
ongoing danger of wildfires which continue to "threaten the State of Florida with a major disaster,'
and;
WHEREAS, the Florida Division of Forestry, Withlacoochee Forestry Center, reporte
that the wildfire risk in Lake, Citrus, Sumter, Hernando, and Pasco Counties was at a very hi
level, and is recommending that outdoor burning of yard waste be delayed until conditions improv ;
and
WHEREAS, on June 27,2011 the City Council of Zephyrhills,Florida,has declared a stat
of local emergency,pursuant to Chapter 166 of the Florida Statutes, enacting the City's Emergenc
Drought Condition Fire Hazard Ordinance,No. 1034-09; and
WHEREAS, said ordinance provides for cessation of enforcement by adoption of
resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Zephyrhills in regul
session,duly assembled,that:
(1) The conditions necessary for declaration of an emergency drought condition no longer exi t
and the City's Emergency Drought Condition Fire Hazard Ordinance No. 1034-09 shall be dorm
until implemented by the required resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of July, 2011.
