A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING PAYMENT OF
COMPENSATION FOR THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, SECTION 21.07 of the Charter of the City of Zephyrhills, provides tha
City Council may, by Resolution fix compensation for its members, provided that th
compensation of members of City Council shall not be changed so far as to effect an increase fo
any member for the term to which that member has already been elected; and
WHEREAS, SECTION 32.04 of the Charter of the City of Zephyrhills, provides tha
City Council may, by Resolution fix compensation for the Mayor, provided that th
compensation of the Mayor shall not be changed so far as to effect an increase for the Mayor fo
the term to which he or she has already been elected; and
WHEREAS, in the FY 2011-2012 budget the City Council and the Mayor were given
General Fund Line Item Expenditure Budget as their own department; and
WHEREAS, in that line item the City Council and Mayor now are classified as staf
and have FICA and Medicare taxes withheld; and whereas, it is now the desire of City Council t o
pay these positions monthly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City o
Zephyrhills, Florida,
1. That compensation for the members of City Council shall remain fixed at Si
Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00), per year, payable monthly with a Five Hundred Dolla
payment.
2. That compensation for the Mayor shall remain fixed at Six Thousand Dollar
($6,000.00),per year,payable monthly with a Five Hundred Dollar payment.
3. Compensation paid to the Mayor or City Council members pursuant to thi
Resolution shall not affect an increase for the Mayor or any City Council member fo
the term to which that member has already been elected.
NOW, THERE-FORE.BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florid
sitting in regular session this 10th day of October, 20
