A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA TO
IMMEDIATELY FUND IMPROVEMENTS TO C.R. 54 FROM U.S. 301
TO 23an ST. AS OUTLINED IN AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
EXECUTED BETWEEN PASCO COUNTY AND THE CITY OF
ZEPHYRHILLS, OR ALTERNATIVELY PLACE THE
AFOREMENTIONED PROJECT AS A HIGH PRIORITY ON ITS PENNY
FOR PASCO FUNDED PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, the City.Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida and Pasco County hay
mutuall1 agreed that improvements are needed on County Road 54 between U.S. Highway 30
and 23r St, Zephyrhills, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City and the County executed agreements regarding shared funding an
improvements to County Road 54 from U.S. 301 to 23rd St., Zephyrhills, Florida("Project"); an
WHEREAS, the City of Zephyrhills has expended municipal public funds toward th
engineering of this project; and
WHEREAS, the City was informed earlier this year by the County of the lack of Count
funding which created an indefinite impediment to the construction of the Project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Zephyrhills has learned that Pasco County has approximately
$30,000,000.00 of unspent and/or unbudgeted"Penny for Pasco" funds; and
WHEREAS, the Zephyrhills Mayor and City Council believe a portion of the approximate)
$30,000,000.00 should be allocated and budgeted for improvements to the CR 54 improvemen
project as agreed to between the City and County via interlocal agreements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills
Florida, That:
Section One: The Mayor and City Council hereby request that the Pasco County Board o
County Commissioners allocate current reserve Penny for Pasco funding for the CR 5
improvement Project from U.S. Highway 301 to 23rd Street so that the entire project as original)
planned can be constructed.
Section Two: Alternatively,the Mayor and City Council request that the Pasco County Board o
County Commissioners rank this project as a high priority and allocate future Penny for Pasc
funding for the CR 54 improvement project from.U.S. Highway 301 to 23rd Street so that th
entire project as originally planned can be constructed.
