RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS,
PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE PROPOSED
MEMBERSHIP APPORTIONMENT AND PLANNING AREA OF THE
PASCO COUNTY METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION.
WHEREAS, the Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is responsibl for
conducting their urbanized area, transportation-planning process as required by Title 23, United States
Code, Section 134; Title 23, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 450(C); and Section 339.175, Florida
Statutes; and,
WHEREAS, Section 339.175, Florida Statutes describes membership makeups of M Os,
including the authority of the Governor to apportion membership based on agreement with local
governments, geographic location, and equitable population distribution; and,
WHEREAS, the current MPO planning area includes all of Pasco County and the current
membership apportionment is nine (9) voting members with fourteen (14)weighted votes; and,
WHEREAS, the Pasco County MPO met on , 20_, to review its v ting
composition and agreed that no changes were needed; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, City of Zephyrhills, Pasco Co inty,
Florida, in regular session duly assembled that the City supports the MPO's metropolitan-planning area
boundary as being all of Pasco County and that the Pasco County MPO membership and voting w ight
shall be as follows:
City of New Port Richey, one (1) member, one (1) vote per member.
City of Zephyrhills, one (1) member, one (1) vote per member.
City of Dade City, one (1) member, one (1) vote per member.
City of Port Richey, one (1) member, one (1) vote per member.
Pasco County Board of County Commissioners, five (5) member, two (2) votes per member
Florida Department of Transportation, one (1) nonvoting advisor.
Thus, the Pasco County MPO will retain its nine (9) voting members with fourteen (14) weighted
votes. This resolution will become part of the Membership Apportionment Plan to be submitted t the
State, , 20_, and shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
