AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA,
PROHIBITING SKATEBOARDING AND SIMILAR ACTIVITIES IN'
CERTAIN AREAS OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS; REPEALING
ORDINANCE NO. 650; PROVIDING FOR FINES; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY,REPEALER AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY 'COUNCIL OF Till
ITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, THAT ORDINANCE NO. 650-IS:REPEALE
AND REPLACED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

ECTION 1. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES. OR 8K 776 PO 58
A. It shall be unlawful for any person to use a skateboard, skates, scooters, inline skates,
roller blades, coaster, or bicycle on property owned and maintained by-the City o�
Zephyrhills, including City parks, when such area is designated as prohibiting suc
usage.
B. Skateboarding, skating and bicycling shall be prohibited on public sidewalk ,
walkways and parking lots inside the downtown area of the City of Zephyrhill :
beginning at 7th Avenue at the east side of 6th Street continuing south to the north sid
of 4th Avenue, then east to the west side of 8th Street, continuing north to the alle
south of 5111 Avenue, then east to the west side of 9th Street, north to the alley north o
5th Avenue, then west to the west side of 8th Street, then north to the south side of 7
Avenue, and west to the east side of 6th Street.
C. Persons skateboarding, skating, and bicycling on sidewalks where this activity is not
prohibited must at all time yield to pedestrians occupying or crossing said sidewalks.
ECTION 2. HELMETS
Helmets shall be worn at all times while within the confines of the skate park.
ECTION 3. FINES
The penalty for violations of this section shall be fines according to the followin
chedule.
1. First offense: $ 75.00
2. Second offense: $150.00
3. Third offense $300.00 -
4. Fourth and subsequent offenses,per offense $500.00
5. The penalty for skateboard on a device intended
to serve as a handrail, a fence, a wall, a step,
fountain, or a bench shall be a fine of five
hundred dollars. $500.00
ECTON 4. SEVERABILITY.
If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is held to be invalid o
nconstitutional by any Court of competent jurisdiction, then said holding shall in no way affe
he validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
ECTION 5. REPEALER. .
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in'conflict herewith are hereby repealed to th
xtent of such conflict.
