ORDINANCE NO. 82
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY, OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA,
IMPOSING. A TAX ON EACH AND EVERY PURCHASE OF
ELECTRICITY, I ,-TER OR BOTTLED GAS (NATURAL LIQUI-
FIED PETROLEUM GAS OR I�iANUFACTURED) , WATER SERVICE;
TELEPHONE SERVICE AND- TELEGRAPR SERVICE WITHIN ITS
CORPORATE LIMITS ; PROVIDING FOR THE EXEMPTION FROM
SUCH TAX OF CERTAIN TAX SUPPORTED BODIES ; PROVIDING
FOR THE COLLECTION OF SUCH TAX BY REQUIRING THE TAX
TO BE PAID BY THE PURCHASER OF SUCH UTILITY SERVICE
TO THE SELLER THEREOF FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF
THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS;, FLORIDA, AND FOR THE. MONTHLY
PAYMENT OF SUCH TAXES PAID TO SUCH SELLER OF UTILITY
SERVICE BY THE SELLER OF SUCH UTILITY SERVICE TO THE
CITY OF . ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY
FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
ephyrh.ills, Florida:

Ten per cent (10°x) on th.� First $25.OO.
'Five per cent (5%) on the balance of all charges
over $25.00.

Such tax shall in every case be paid by the purchaser o

Any person violating theiterms and conditions of this
rdinance shall , upon trial and conviction in the Municipal
,ourt of the City of Zephyrhills; Florida, be punished by a fine
f not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00) or
es imprisonment or by both such fine and imprisonment.6ia

If any part of this Ordinance shall_ by any court of
ompetent ?jurisdiction be held to [be unconstitutional, such ruling
hall_ not affect the validity of the remainder of this Ordinance.

Upon its passage and approval by the Mayor of the City
f ephyrhills , Florida, this Ordinance shall become effective
