AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, REQUIRING
ALL QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF
ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, WHO HAVE HERETOFORE
REGISTERED TO VOTE IN CITY ELECTIONS,
TO RE-REGISTER WITH THE CITY CLERK.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statutes, 1953, Section
165.13, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills has been
vested with certain powers to establish rules, regulations and
fees for the registration of voters for the annual election
of municipal officials , and
WHEREAS, the last complete registration of electors
of the City of Zephyrhills was held in the year of 1944, and
WHEREAS, it has become impossible to ascertain the
exact number of qualified electors of the City of Zephyrhills
from the registration books by virtue of the death or removal
of said registered electors, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to maintain an accurate
record of qualified electors of the City of Zephyrhills ,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That all qualified electors, as defined
by Title V, Chapter 1, Section 1.02 of the City Charter of the
City of Zephyrhills, and Title III, Chapter 2, Section 2.01,
2.02, and 2.03 of the Ordinances of the City of Zephyrhills,
• (!who have heretofore registered- as . electors of the City of
Zephyrhills ,) or who have not been required to register by the
City of Zephyrhills shall be required to reregister with the
City Clerk in the same manner as set out in the aforementioned
sections of the Charter and Ordinances.
• Section 2. Any qualified elector, who has heretofore
registered with the City Clerk. but who fails to reregister
with the said City Clerk, as set out in Section 1 above, shall
not be entitled to vote in the City Elections€
Section 3. Nothing in this ordinance shall be deemed
to effect the procedure for the registration of any new electors
as set out in Title III, Chapter 2, of the Ordinance of the City
of Zephyrhills.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
Section 5. If any part ' of this ordinance shall, by
any Court of competent jurisdiction be held to be unconstitutional,
such ruling shall not effect the validity of the remainder of
this ordinance.
Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective in
the manner as provided by the City Charter of the City of
Zephyrhills, Florida.
The foregoing Ordinance No. A. ' was read and passed
on its first reading by the City Council of Zephyrhills`, Florida,
