AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS9 j� `
/C, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A BUILDING CODE FOR
THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS; PROVIDING FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF, AND PROVIDING
THAT THE SAME SHALL BE SUPPLEMENTAL TO
S - S2 ANY OTHER BUILDING RESTRICTIONS OF THE
SAID CITY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PENALTY
FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS THEREOF
Be It Enacted and Ordained by the City Council of the City of
Zephyrhills, Florida;
Section 1. That the City of Zephyrhills does hereby no
• adopt as and for its building code that certain building code pre-

pared and published by the Southern Standard Building Code Congres
of the issue of 1950, and that from and after the adoption of this
Ordinance that all buildings constructed within the City of
Zephyrhills be built and constructed in accordance with the peci-
fications and requirements of said building code ,in all resp cts
the same as if all of the provisions of said code had been set
forth in this Ordinance verbatim.
Section 2. Nothing herein contained shall be construed as
repealing .any other building code heretofore enacted by the City
Council of the City of Zephyrhills9 except as the same may be in
conflict herewith and inconsistent herewith, but insofar as Said
ordinances are in conflict herewith, the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any part of this Ordinance shall by any court
of competent jurisdiction be held unconstitutional, such decision
shall not affect the remaining portions hereof.
Section +. That all building permits issued by the City of
Zephyrhills for the construction of any buildings with the City
or the repair thereof, shall be treated and considered as if all
of the terms of the said Southern Standard Building Code ha been
fully incorporated.
Section 5. If any person shall violate the terms of this
Ordinance by the constructing or repair of any building within
the corporate limits of the City of Zephyrhills in any manner
whatsoever in conflict with the provisions of the said Sout ern
Standard Building Code of the issue of 1950, he shall be gu lty
of-"a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fine for

a first offense not to exceed $250.00 or imprisoned for not ore
than 30 days in the City jail or both such fine and imprisonment,
and upon a subsequent or second conviction, may be fined not to
exceed $500.00 or imprisoned for not more than six months or by
both such fine and imprisonment.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its nact-
ment.
The foregoing Ordinance was read and passed on its first
reading by the City Council of Zephyrhills, Florida, on this the
25th day of January, 1952.
