pRESCRIBIN G 'RULES GOVERNING TNE MMTTER OF ALLOWING
SUCH SICK LEAVE.

section l,•• Any employee who is unable to perform his duties
because of illness , or because of the illness or death of Father,'
Pother, Husband, liVife, Child, Brother or Sister, and consequently;,
s as to be absent from his employment, shall be granted leave of
bsence, subject to the following rules which shall govern in all,
matters pertaining to sick leave.
a. Not more than three days in any period of four months
shall be allowed as sick leave, or nine days such leave
in any one year..
b. Sick leave shall be taken only when necessary bemuse
of illness as prescribed herin.
c. An employee shall receive full compensation for time,
justifiably absent on sick leave,
d. An employee who finds it necessary to be absent from
his employ .ent because of illness, shall before 8;00 A.M,
of the day on which he must be absent, except for
emergency reasons:., notify the City Clerk,. giving the
reasons for his absence.
e. An employee, absent because of sickness, shall, upon
his return to duty, file with the City Clerk a statement
setting forth the days absent from duty and reasons therefor.
f. Accumulated days of unused sick leave shall be added
to the annual leave of employees eligible for annual. leave
by the City Clerk in accordance with the records.
g. The City Clerk shall keep a complete record of alL
absences occasioned by illness and report to the City
Council all Claims for compensation under this
ordinance.
section 2; This Ordinance shall become effective upon its
becoming a Law.
