ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA - �!
DECLARING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY UNAUTHORIZED PERSON
TO TAMPER WITH, TURN ON, OR IN ANY WAY INTERFERE
WITH THE FIRE HYDRANTS, ALSO KNOWN AS WATER
HYDRANTS, WHICH ARE THE PROPERTY OF THE CITY OF
ZEPHYRHILLS, AND PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA:
Section 1 . Authorized persons shall mean the chair—
man of the water committee of the City Council of the City of
Zep yrhills, and the fire chief, or any person so designated as
act ng fire chief. Unauthorized persons shall be all other persons
oth r than those above named.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any unauthorized
per on to turn on any of the fire hydrants located within the city
lim is of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida.
Section 3. For the purposes of this ordinance, it
sha 1 be unlawful for any unauthorized person to obtain water from
any of the fire hydrants of the City of Zephyrhills without the
exp ess permission of the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills .
Section 4. Any person violating the provisions of
Sec. ion 2 or 3 above, upon conviction therefor, shall be punished
by fine of not less than $50. 00, or, by imprisonment for a period
of ore than sixty (60) days .
Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
con lict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6. If any part of ;this ordinance shall by any
cou t of competent jurisdiction be held to be unconstitutional, suc
ruling shall not affect the validity : of' the remainder of this
ordinance.
Section 7. This ordinance shall become effective in the
ma ner as provided by the City Charter of the City of Zephyrhills,
Florida.
