AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE- MANNER OF THE INSTALLATION OF ALL PLUMBING WITHIN THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS WHETHER UPON NEW CON- STRUCTION, REPAIR TO EXISTING PLUMBING OR OTHERWISE; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A PLUMBING INSPECTOR AND PROVIDING FOR THE FEES TO BE CHARGED OR ALL INSPECTION; PROVIDING FOR THE DISCONTINUING OF ALL PLUMBING WORK UPON ANY BUILDING IN THE EVENT OF A VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF AND FOR THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF ANY OF ITS PROVISIONS. i - Be It Enacted and Ordained by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills , Florida: 'Section 1. That from and after the adoption and entct- ment of this ordinance that all plumbing within the City of Zephyr-. hills, whether the same be installed in the construction of n w buildings or the repair or- alteration of the plumbing in existing building shall be done in accordance with the provisions of tie State Sanitary Code, which said code is hereby now adopted by the City of Zephyrhills the same as if set forth in this ordinance, verbatim;and that from time to time as the said State Sanitary Co e shall be altered, amended or changed, that said alteration, changes or amendments shall become effective as to this code without the adoption of any subsequent or amending ordinance. Section 2. That there is hereby created and established the office of plumbing , inspector of the City of Zephyrhills , ho shall be appointed by the City Council of the City oaf' Zephyr ills who shall serve from the date of his appointment until the er�d of the calendar year in which he is appointed, and that at the meeting in December of each year that the City Council shall ap- point a plumbing inspector who shall serve during the succeeding calendar year. That in the event of a vacancy in said office{ occurring at any time that the City Council may fill the office for the remainder of that term.7 'hat it shall be the duty of the said plumbing inspector to examine and approve' all plans and speci f ications for plumbing work to be done within the corporate limits of said city; to issue the permits therefor; to collect the fees for such inspection as hereinafter set forth; to inspect all , plumbing, drainage and other installations in and around allipre - mises within the City of Zephyrhills which would have any corinecti n directly or indirectly with the installation and maintenencelof plumbing which would affect the health of the inhabitants, occu- pants, or those adjacent or in the proximity of any building; to conduct any tests which might be necessary or advisable to him; to determine if the same be properly installed, and upon the ap- proval of said plumbing to issue his certificate of _inspection an approval; to render to the public and citizens of said city any advisatory service relative to plumbing matters or regulatio s, and that in the event of any complaint made by any person as to any plumbing installation that he shall inspect the same to de- termine if the said installation be injurious or dangerous to the health of the inhabitants or occupants of any building or any person living in the close proximity thereof. Section 3. That the said plumbing inspector shall, collect fees for the issuing of the permits, inspection and appro al according to the following schedule: For the inspection of f ixtu es, for the first fixture, $1.50; for each additional fixture, 50c. ; for the inspection of septic tanks and the installation thereof, $1.00. That said fees shall be collected by the said plumbing inspector at the time of the issuing of the permit and if at; the time of the final inspection he shall determine that there have been further and additional fixtures installed, not covered by the original permit that the approval certificate shall not be issued until all fees have been paid in accordance with the work actually installed. All fees so collected by the said plumbing inspector shall be by him promptly turned over and paid to the City Clerk. The said plumbing inspector shall be paid such com- pensation as may from time to time be determined by motion oaf the City Council. 2. J I Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and approval in the manner as is required by law. Section 5. That if any section, paragraph or sentence of this ordinance shall for any cause be held void and of no effect by any court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not ' ffec any other provision of this ordinance. Section 6. Any person installing, repairing or alterin any plumbing within the City of Zephyrhills without first having submitted his plans or specifications therefor and secured the permit as herein provided, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and _ upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $500.00 or by imprisonment not exceeding six months or by both fine and imprisonment.
