ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, PROHI-
BITING THE DEPOSITING OF
TRASH, LITTER, PAPER, GARBAGE,
CANS, BOTTLES, CARTONS, OR
OTHER WASTE OR DISCARDED MATER-
l 6 IALS, BY ANY PERSON, PARTY,
FIRM OR CORPORATION, -WITHIN
THE OF

PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE
VIOLATION OF SUCH ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, many of the municipalities of Florida and in
other states across the nation are participating in "Don't Be A
Litterbug" campaigns, the. purpose of which is to promote the
beauty, health, sanitation, and neatness of such municipalities,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills,
Florida is especially desirous that the City of Zephyrhills be
foremost in the municipal characteristics and conditions, which
the "Don't, Be A. Litterbug" campaigns were designed to foster,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA., AS FOLLOWS:
- Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any pers n,
party, firm, or corporation to deposit, discard, throw,. plac ,
or pile any trash, litter of any type, paper, garbage, cans,
cartons, bottles , or other waste or discarded materials along
any public street, sidewalk, or right of way within the munici-
pal limits of said city. Provided that materials, left on prop-
erty by the respective property owners for collection by the
Street and Garbage Department, shall be excluded from the pro-
visions hereof.
Section 2. Any person, party, firm, or corporatio
violating any provision of this Ordinance, upon conviction Hereof
in Municipal Court, shall be punished by a fine of not more than
$50.00, or imprisonment for a term of not more than ten days or
both as the Judge of the Municipal Court may, in his discretion,
impose.

Section 3,__. All ordinance or parts of ordinances in
enflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such con-
licto
Section g . If any part of this ordinance shall, by
any Court of competent jurisdiction, be held to be unconstitution

al, such ruling shall not affect the validity of the remainder

Section �-. This ordinance shall become effective in
the manner as provided by the City . Charter of the City of Zephry-
hills, Florida..

on its first reading by the City Council of the City of Zephyr-
hills, Florida, on the 5th day ; of December 1955
