ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS
ON PILLARS AND PROHIBITING THE CONSTRUCTION OF ANY
BUILDING NOT ON CONTINUOUS FOUNDATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY
OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 . . It shall be unlawful for any person to
construct or build within the city limits of the City of Zephyrhill ,
any type building in which pillars are to be used for the foundation
for said building. Any foundation or support used for any building
shall be a continuous foundation, as contrasted to the separate
pillar type, which by this ordinance is specifically prohibited.
Section 2. Before any building may be constructed within
the city limits of the City of Zephyrhills, a building permit shall
be obtained from the City of Zephyrhills, and no building permit
shall issue to anyone using pillars upon which to construct any
type building.
Section 3. Provided., however, that none of the provisions
of his ordinance shall be enforceable against any construction begun
within the city limits of the City of Zephyrhills prior to the date
of this ordinance becoming law; and provided, further, that the
res rictions imposed by the terms of this ordinance shall not be
app icable to any building already constructed within the city
limits of the City of Zephyrhills ; it being the intent of this ordi-
nance that any building already constructed on concrete or brick
pillars may be added to in like manner, and any building already
begun shall not be affected by the terms of this ordinance.
Section 4. If any section, clause or provision of this
ordinance shall for any cause be held void and of no effect, it sha 1
not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance.
Section S. This ordinance shall take effect immediately
upo its becoming a law, as provided by the Charter of the City of
Zep yr.hills, Florida.
