ORDINANCE NO. /
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES UPON CITY
STREETS; PRESCRIBING MINIMUM NUMBER OF LIGHTS TO BE DISPLAYED
ON MOTOR VEHICLES; REQUIRING THAT OPERATORS OF MOTOR VEHICLES
HAVE VALID OPERATORS' LICENSES; REQUIRING THAT MOTOR VEHICLES BE
EQUIPPED WITH MUFFLERS IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION, AND PROHIBITING
THE USE OF DEVICES WHICH TEND TO CREATE SMOKE OR NOISE; AND PROVID-
ING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; AND REPEALING ORDINANCES
NO. 51, 52, 56, 57, and 60.
BE. IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS

SECTION I:
(a.) Re ula.tion of Parking of Automobiles or Other Vehicles Uon
City Streets and City Property. - It shall be unlawful for any pers n
to park any automobile or other vehicle upon city streets or city
property in any manner different from or contrary., to, or for longer
pe iods of time, than that which is indicated on appropriately mar ed
signs upon streets or other signs authorized and placed by proper
au hority.
(b) Penalty for Violation: Every person who is convicted of a.
violation of this section shall be punished by a. fine of not more han
TE ($10.00) DOLLARS, or by imprisonment in the city jail for a. pe iod
of not more than TEN (10) days, or both.
SECTION II:
(a.) Motor Vehicles Required to Display Lights Within Specified
Ho rs. Every automobile operated in the city at any time from a. ore
half hour after sunset to a. one half, hour before sunrise, and a.t any

other time when there is not sufficient light to render discernabl€
persons and vehicles on the streets a.t a. distance of 200 feet ahea.d•,
shall- .displa.y two (2) white illuminated headlights and two (2) red
lights at the: rear of said automobile, trailer, or other vehicle-, such
li hts a.t the rear to be unobstructed by any portion of said a.u.tom bile;
ana each automobile, trailer, or other vehicle must have a. white light
placed to shine on the registration plate and render it clearly le ible
from a. distance of fifty feet to the rear.
In addition to the requirements set forth in the preceding
paragraph, the lower or passing beam of the headlights shall be used

at all times during the twilight hours in the morning, the twilight
hours in the evening and during fog, smoke and rain.
(b) Penalty for Violation; Every person who is convicted of
a violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not more
than. Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or by imprisonment in the city jail
for a period of not more than Ten (10) days, or both.

SECTION III:
(a) Requirement that Operators, of Motor Vehicles Have Valid
Operators ' Licenses or Permits. It shall be unlawful for any perso
to erate an automobile or other motor vehicle within the City unl ss

said operator has a valid driver 's license or permit issued by the
pro er authority, and that the operation of said vehicle is done in
con ormance with and according to privileges granted by said licens
or ermit.
(b) Penalty for Violation: Every person who is convicted of
a violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not more
than Fifty ($50.00) Dollars or by imprisonment in the city jail for a
period of not more thirty (30) days, or both.
SECTION IV;
(a) Requirement That Motor Vehicles be Equipped with a Muffler
in Good Working Condition, and Prohibiting Use of Certain Devices.
Every motor vehicle, while being operated in the City shall, at all o p s 1 ,
times, be equipped with a muffler: in good working order- and in con.-
. start operation to prevent excessive or unnecessary noise or annoying
smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cutout, bypass or similar
device upon motor vehicles while operated within the City.
(b) Penalty for Violation. . Every person who is convicted of
a violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not more

period of not more than ten (10) days, or both.

SECTION V:
(a) Prior Ordinances Repealed.1 Ordinance numbers 51, 52, 56,

57 and 60, according to the numbering scheme of this City, be and
the same are hereby repealed,

SECTION VI :

Saving Clause.. If any part of this Ordinance shall be in any
Court of competent jurisdiction, be held to be unconstitutional, such
ruling shall not effect the validity of the remainder of this Ordin rice.
