AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE NO. 72
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 72 OF THE
:CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, AMENDING TITLE
III, CHAPTER I, SECTION 1 . 05 ENTITLED "ABSENTEE
VOTERS" :
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 72 provides for absentee
voting in all city elections, and'
WHEREAS., Chapter I, Section 1 . 05 of said ordinance
provides, that the absentee ballot should be handed in person to
the City Clerk of the City of Zephyrhills, and
WHEREAS, that in effect, said ordinance nullifies
absentee voting ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED- by the City
Council of the City of Zephyrhills as follows :
Upon making of said affidavit, the City
Clerk shall issue an official ballot to such
voter, who shall vote for the- candidate of
his or her choice in secret, and enclose said
ballot, in a sealed envelope, marked "Official
Ballot", furnished by the City Clerk, which
said sealed envelope shall be delivered in
person, or by United States Mail, to the Clerk
of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida on or before
5 p. m. of the day; immediately preceding the day
of holding of said election.
That this ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its passage.
REPEALING CLAUSE':' All ordinances or parts of
ordinances of the City of Ze-phyrhills, Florida, in conflict
herewith, be, and the same are, hereby ,repealed.
SAVING CLAUSE': If any section, sub-section, sen-
tence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance- is for any
reason held or declared to be unconstitutional, inoperative or
void, such holding or invalidity ,shall not affect the remaining
( portions of this ordinance ; and it shall be construed to have
been the legislative intent to pass this ordinance without such

unconstitutional, inoperative or invalid parts therein; and
the remainder of this. ordinance, after the exclusion of such
part or parts, shall be deemed and held to be valid as if such
excluded parts had not been included herein ; or, if this ordinance
or any provision thereof shall be held inapplicable to any person,
group of persons, property, kind of property, circumstances, or '�
; act of circumstances, such holding shall not affect the appli—
cability thereof to any other person, property or circumstance.
T-he foregoing ordinance was read and passed on
its first. reading by the City Council of Ze-phyrhills, Florida,
on the r_ day of Gam _, A. D. 1956.
