AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR DEFINITIONS TO BE
USED IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF LICENSE TAX RE-
GULATIONS FOR BUSINESSES AND OCCUPATIONS; TO
PROVIDE FOR PENALTIES FOR DOING BUSINESS WITH-
OUT PAYING THE PRESCRIBED LICENSE FEE; ALSO
PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR LATE PAYMENT; TO
ESTABLISH WHEN VARIOUS LICENSE TAXES FOR BUSI-
NESSES AND OCCUPATIONS ARE DUE AND PAYABLE;
TO ESTABLISH THAT SUCH LICENSE TAXES ARE PAY-
ABLE TO THE CITY CLERK; TO SET OUT THE FORM
AND CONTENTS OF EACH SUCH LICENSE ISSUED; TO
PROVIDE THAT EVERY LICENSEE SHALL CONSPICU-
OUSLY DISPLAY SUCH LICENSES AS IS ISSUED HIM;
TO PROVIDE THAT MONIES COLLECTED BY THIS
LICENSE TAX REGULATION SHOULD BE PAYABLE TO
THE GENERAL FUND; TO PROVIDE WHEN SUCH LICENSES
WILL EXPIRE; TO PROVIDE A SCHEDULE OF THE
VARIOUS LICENSE FEES; AND TO REPEAL ANY OF THE
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND TO PROVIDE
FOR ITS EFFECTIVE DATE.
Be It Enacted and Ordained by the City Council of the City of
Zephyrhills, Florida;
Section 1. That the words "Who pay no other license
tax", as herein used, shall be defined and construed to mean
those who pay no other license tax to the City of Zephyrhills
provided for in this Ordinance.
Section 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to engage in or manage within the said C'ty
of Zephyrhills, any business, profession or occupation mentioned
in this Ordinance without first having obtained a license to do
so from the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, in the manner as h re—
inafter set forth opposite the name of such business, profession,
or occupation.
Section 3. That all licenses shall be payable on or
before the 1st day of October of each year.
Section 4. That no license shall be issued for any rac:—
tional portion of a year.
Section 5. That all license taxes shall be paid to the
City Clerk of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, and the said
City Clerk is, hereby, authorized and directed to collect
said license tax.
Section 6. That upon the payment of the license tax
in the amount and in the manner as herein provided, the City
Clerk of the said City of Zephyrhills, shall issue a license to
the person, firm or corporation paying the required license
tax, and said license shall be in the form adopted and appro ed
by the City Council of the said City of Zephyrhills,,.and sha 1
state the name of the City of Zephyrhills, the name of the p r—
son or firm or corporation to whom the license is issued, th
nature of the business, profession or occupation to be engag d
in or managed, the amount of the license tax paid, the date f
issuance and the date of expiration.
Section 7. Every licensee shall keep conspicuously osted
and displayed in theplace of business, at all times, the li ense
which shall have been issued to him under this Ordinance.
Section 8. That all license taxes collected by the ity
Clerk of the City of Zephyrhills, under the provisions of th s
Ordinance shall be promptly paid into the general fund of sa d
City of Zephyrhills.
Section 9. That all licenses under the provisions o
this Ordinance shall expire on the 30th day of September of ach
calendar year.

Section 11. That all occupational license fees provi ed
for by this Ordinance shall be due - and payable on or before
October 1st. of each' year, commencing October-. 1, 1972. That the
City Clerk shall, no later than September l : 1972, and on or be-
fore September 1st of each succeeding year, :_`mail notice by .rdgu-
lar U. S. Mail to all persons required to pay occupational license
fees under the terms of this Ordinance, said notice stating he
amount of occupational license_ fees due. That all such occu a-
tional license fees shall be paid on or before October 1st, 972,
and on or- before the 1st dayof each succeeding October. Th t ,. ..
all licenses not renewed, by the October lst ' date, shall be c n-
sidered delinquent and subject to a delinquency penalty of t n
(10%) percent for the month of October, plus an additional five
(5%) percent penalty for- each month of delinquency thereafte , <- .
until paid; '. provided that the total delinquency penalty shal
not exceed twenty five . (25%) percent of the occupational Sic nse
fee for the delinquent establishment.
Any person engaging in or managing any business, occ po-
tion, or .profession without first obtaining an occupational
license under' the of this Ordinance, shall be subject o a
penalty of twenty five (25%) percent of the license determin d ..to
be due, in addition to any other penalty provided by this Or i-
nonce.
9.
Section 12. That any person, firm or corporation vio
lating a provision 'of this Ordinance, upon conviction thereof
shall be punished by a fine of not less than Five $5.00) Dol ars,
nor more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, or by imprisonment
in the City Jail for a period of not more than thirty (30)
days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion
of the Municipal Judge of the said City. of Zephyrhills, Flori a.
Section 13. That all Ordinances in conflict with this
Ordinance be and the same are, hereby, now repealed.
Section 14. If any section, sub—section, paragraph or
other provision ' of .this Ordinance, or its application to any
person or . circumstance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional,
such holding shall not affect the validity of any other sect on,
sub—section, paragraph or other provision or its application
to other persons or circumstances.
Section 15. This Ordinance shall take effectimmediately
upon becoming law, provided, however, that all occupational
licenses issued pursuant to the existing Ordinance at . the tine
of this effective date, shall remain in effect until October 1st,
1972.
