AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ZEPHYRHILLS AMENDING SECTION 23.01, CHAPTER
3, CITY CHARTER OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS,
FLORIDA, ADDING TO SAID SECTION A PROVISION
AUTHORIZING THAT ORDINANCES SUBMITTED TO THE
CITY COUNCIL SHALL BE READ BY TITLE ONLY,
UNLESS A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE COUNCIL MEMBERS
PRESENT DESIRE IT READ IN FULL, AND PROVIDING FOR
A REFERENDUM THEREOF. -
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYR-
HILLS, FLORIDA, as follows :
Section 1. That Section 23.01 of Chapter 3, of the
City Charter of the City of Zephyrhills, shall be amended, said
section to read as follows :
SECTION 23.01. PASSAGE OF ORDINANCES.--Every
ordinance or proposed ordinance, before be-
coming a law, shall be passed by a majority vote
of the City Council, providing further that no
ordinance shall be read and voted upon more than
once at any meeting of the City Council, shall be
approved by the Mayor, or become a law without
his approval, and shall be published or posted
as hereinafter required . "Be it ordained by the
City Council of Zephyrhills, Florida, " shall be c"
sufficient as the enacting clause of any ordinance.
That said ordinance shall be read by title only,
unless a majority vote of council members present
desire it read in full.
Section 2. That passage of this Ordinance shall be
subject to a referendum of the registered electors of the City
of Zephyrhills, Florida.
The foregoing Ordinance No. was read and passed
on its first reading by the City Council of the City of Zephyr-
hills, Florida, on the I day of , 1973.
