. The drainage for the U5 301 improvement project. is to be. designed to stand-
alone on �ts awn detention/retention features. The City of Zephyrhills
decl'ined to; participate in construction of enlarging the proposed US 301
drai nage outfall system far the purpose af rel i evi ng 1 acal fl oodi ng probl ems
that occur during low frequency storms.

7he FDOT d,rainage structure far Zephyr Creek crossing US 301 near Old
Crystal Spr,ings Road will be s�zed to accommodate the flow resulting from
the Pasca ,Gounty improvements ta Zephyr Creek propased in the Lake Zephyr
stormwater management master plan.
The City of Zephyrhills maintains a small starmwater detention pond and
��umping station west of US 303 near Geiger Road wh�ch discharges via a 26"
�Force main to Zephyr Creek at old SR 54. The City believes there ta be some
��xcess pumping capacity that may be available for use in the FDOT drainage
���utfall system for US 301..
'i�he City of Zephyrhil�s. aiso maintains a detention pond and pumping station
(12" force; main) east of US 301 adjacent to City Hall . The City has agreed
ta a�1 aw ' �FDOT to uti 1 i ze and possi bl y en1 arge the exi sti ng pand ta
accommodate US 301 drainage provided that the existing pump station is
ipgraded to; mi ni mi ze f1 oadi ng effects at Ci ty Na71 .
