The DECA student is often like an uncut diamond. He possesses the potential for becoming a flawless, precious stone or the
abrasive powder used in rock drills. Many things influence the student's development. His home and family have a great
influence. His personal drives and ambitions, as well as his training and education all play a great pan in his personal and
vocational development.
In the classroom and on the job he is trained and gains knowledge both in theory and practice. The student is guided and
shaped until that special moment when the diamond is to be cut. Only the student who possesses the necessary strength and
dedication and is responsible enough to withstand all the pressures of that final blow will then be transformed from a rhombus
shaped configuration into a precious gem.
