My name is Karl Eric Luc Cuvelle but just Karl is good
enough! I'm a foreign exchange student from Belgium.
Belgium is a pretty small country with a large population. It
is surrounded by France, West Germany and Holland. I live
next to Brussels, the capitol of Belgium. I graduated last
year from high school and this year I do my senior year over
in another country, the USA. Some people call this a waste
of time or losing one year, but I certainly think the op-
posite. Living in another country, culture and family is very
interesting,fun and fascinating.
Being an exchange student and spending one year far
away from family, friends, town and country is perhaps
hard and depressing, but I know that I'm very lucky to do
this all and I will always remember this year as very positive
and fun. I'm 18 now and after this year I'll have more
responsibilities and more independence.
When I came in ZHS, I was very glad to see your curiosi-
ty and to hear all your questions. Your interests in
somebody from somewhere else pleased me very much. It
was hard to make friends and sometimes I had the impres-
sion that some students didn't want to accept me, but other
students really helped me and accepted me as a friend.
I really want to thank all those friends, teachers and
guidance counselors without whom I would never have
finished the semester.
I will never forget ZHS and I really think to come back
someday to Florida.
