Now, it's off to school! You don't
ride the bus, which is good because by
now you would have missed it. So you
hop in your car and proceed to school.
Again you try to understand how on
earth anyone can tolerate driving at a
constant speed of 25 mph, unless, of
course, they're slowing down for dan-
gerous situations like mailboxes, and
why you always get stuck behind
them. How can so many people be
ignorant of the right-of-way? That's
right, you got to the stop sign first,
you go first. Now, was that so dif-
ficult?
You finally reach the school, before
the tardy bell but after all the parking
spaces have been taken. Squeezing be-
tween two cars already parked on the
grass, you have just enough time to
make it to class. Hopefully, the people
you just parked between won't need
to perform any unusual maneuvers
with their cars, like opening the doors, Up & At ' Urn
before you get back. But now it's time
for first period. Despite your best ef-
forts, the teacher's monotone voice
discussing the fascinating subject of
symbols in literature starts to have an
effect. You'll just put your head down
for a little while, you tell yourself, that
way you can concentrate on just lis-
tening and not supporting your head.Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. s
You startle awake at the sound of the
bell. Hmm . . . maybe this day will go
by faster than you thought.
