System
From five countries these students come to see us- in small town Zephyrhills. They
traveled across an ocean, and ended up in a town they had never heard of, living with
strangers, and having to make new friends. This is something that would daunt most
teens, but, somehow, they have kept their composure. These five get to experience
something that most of us never will. But, we do have a chance to learn from them.
Want to know the biggest ways America has influenced them? Movies and music.
Want to know what surprised them the most about America? Our unexpected
hospitality. Want to know what they think of the issues that America holds so dear?
They're not so big in their countries. Are they joining the military? All males have to. Is
school easier here? Just try twelve to twenty-two subjects a year like they do. But more
than just the small stuff, maybe, if you listen to them, you will hear something about
yourself as well. They might just teach you how important you and your country are.
Maybe not. But, they can give you a perspective that only five people in this school
can.
