HomeMy WebLinkAbout0156 Taken from an e-mail of a US soldier... I'm leaving for Camp Doha, Kuwait, on 9 Jan. My unit, the 513th MI Brigade, is over there already (Since 31 Nov) and I'm going to try and catch up with them. The Middle East situation is a complex one and tensions are getting higher everyday. h. We can only speculate on which road we will travel down in the upcoming months. We (US Army) will do our best to make the outcome a favorable one for the citizens of the US and our allies. The world we live in today is not the same as before 9-11 . We have lost something that we may never re- gain....that sense of comfort and security for our families and friends on our own soil. 1► '� How many of you thought before 9-11 that such a terrible event could conceivably hap- rt pen here in the states. I don't want my kids growing up in this new era of wondering when the next attack will happen. I want my kids to grow like I grew up... thinking about when the next football game is, wondering ti- who was going to which party, and having :t fun at school. -, That's why the US military is going to the Middle East. To regain some sort of security , for ourselves and families. It's not about oil, deflecting the public away for the economy, settling things for "dad", or raising your public opinion ratings. ti While I'm gone...
