This year had its ups and
downs for all of us. Some-
times it may have seemed that
there were more downs than
ups, making it hard to even see
the good times when they did '1 •
come along. And maybe there
were more ups, which made it ij ,
all the harder when the walls of mNa6
life came CRASHING down in ` \
on us. And it may seem that
those things are lost and far be-
hind
us now that the year is , it
over. The yearbook is simply a SCH 1 BUS
memory of those things now in 'I
the past, right? So, in the
scheme of it all, what does the
■
Mark of a Memory really have to do with anything? Why
should we care? Because it is r•
EVERYTHING. It determines /l _
who we are. One of the aspects 000
that make human beings uni- r
que is our ability to learn from
things. What did life teach you
this year? What lessons did you
learn in love, patience, hate, '1 :
and pain that no class could _
teach? All algebra, science ,,, and SCNOr g
English aside, what did you S
learn? Are there the marks of
the LOVES of your lives; peo-
ple, sports, jobs forever engraved in your minds and even bodies? It could have been as subtle as a
"Thank You" that no one knows about or maybe a championship victory that had the town in a BLAZE.
What happened this year that changed you? You were asked that at the beginning of this book. Did you
think about it?As you looked through, the pictures, did it ever occur to you just what it was that you TOOK
AWAY from this year?
