When asked what Mrs. Fernatt's defining moment in her
career has been she said, "...when students come back
to visit or send me a note after many years have passed.
• Each time a student returns to say hello and share his/
her life beyond high school means that I had some kind of
effect -be it academic or personal. That's what teaching
is about - touching lives."
