out. Every athlete experienced the indescrib-
able feeling of adrenaline pumping through
their veins while they endured heated com-
petition. The path to greatness for an athlete
required hours of practice and a great deal of
ime and dedication.For Suzanne Springfield,
Nicole Bell, and Lindsey Knowlton (pictured
left), the countless hours running in the hot
•sun after school paid off when they crossed
the finish line. Not only were athletes striv-
ing to become winners, they also strived to
ecome champions. The way to earn a spot
on the United States Olympic team was to start
any and work hard. No matter what direc-
tion the chosen sport might take an athlete,
always remember where and who you once

All athletes had their ups and downs,wins and
_ losses, but as long as they followed the right
ath, they were bound to achieve success.
