HomeMy WebLinkAbout0214 I riioia/il lll►1/il Countless hours have been dedicated to create the next several pages. In honor of our school's rich history, we wanted to highlight some of the many former students and staff members who proudly call themselves Bulldogs. In no way are these pages meant to serve as a complete and fully accurate history. Therefore, please excuse us if we missed a name or fact. We sincerely apologize for any omissions. Our committee found it very difficult to gather the information for this section: however, we all felt it very important to include them anyway. Unbeknownst to many of us, there is no single location/database to pull information regarding military alumni, employees' years of service, and family re- cords: therefore, what you find in these pages took hours of legwork by some very dedicated people. At this time, I would like to recognize and thank Caroline Marlette, Clereen Brunty. Madonna Wise, and Anne Neukom for the hard work, dedication, and support they have given to this endeavor. The following details the resources used to gather this information: Sources for List of Veterans in 2011 Alumni Section of the Yearbook • Pilot Club list from the Veterans Memorial in Zephyrhills Park • Responses to articles by history writers, Madonna Wise and Clereen Brunty in The Zephyrhills News as well as articles by The Laker • Contacts with former JROTC faculty • History accounts from books and Depot records • Records kept by Clereen Brunty„ including newspaper articles collected over nd the Alumni Web Page responses • Calls to veterans groups yielded no listings available • Searches of military and government web pages, con cted by co iftee members and the arbook staff, found no existing data-based sites Sources for four generation families: • Records from newspaper articles ry books written about the area • Interviews ng-time resid • Requests fro udents prese I o h ee or ore generations who were graduates of the school • Searches of existing ZHS yearbooks • Records kept by Clereen Brunty. including articles collected over the years.
