By Taylor Brewer
When most people think of a tradition, they think of things their family has done for years
that are school, holiday, or family related. There things are usually passed down through many
generations.
School rituals can be as simple as having a friend stay the night before the first day of
school or going clothes shopping with the family before the big day. A holiday celebration can be
when your family makes a specific meal or has a gift giving tradition. Freshman Meghan Morel
says, "Holiday traditions mean a lot to my family and me. It's a time I get to spend with my family
and bring back all the memories we share. Any holiday is amazing when I'm with my family!" A
family tradition can include going out of town for a reunion. Everyone has their way of remember-
ing what they have done in their past.
A great way to pass these memories to our posterity is through pictures. Not only are
customs and practices passed down, but the memories along with them. In the digital age of
Facebook, scrapbooking, and Tumblr, keeping a photo log of traditions is simple and easy.
Don't have a tradition? Don't worry. There are many years left for us all to start and
document plenty of school, family, or friendship traditions. Get started now and remember to
take lots of photos.
