Studyhabit variety
By Hannah Ungerer
We have all heard our parents say, "Shut that T.V. off and do your homework,"
or, "Get those things out of your ears so you can concentrate!" Probably everyone has
heard something along these lines before; however, maybe those environments actu-
ally work for some people.
Study habits vary from listening to music to studying with flashcards. Some
people like to study with a group of people, and others focus better when they work
alone. Senior Amanda Smith prefers group work because, "You can distribute the work
evenly." Some students like to study a little each night and keep on top of things, and
others work best under pressure and tend to cram late the night before, the very begin-
ning of class, or during lunch with some friends.
Jonathan Barnett says, "I study best when I am listening to music." For Jona-
than, multitasking is his strong suit. Some students are able to do two things at once
when it comes to studying, but most can just read through the text book and look over
their notes a few times and they're good to go.
Struggle to keep up with six classes can be stressful, but now is the time to de-
velop some type of study habit to prepare for college and life. So find what works best,
and get to studying.
