A volunteer is simply someone who offers to do something without expecting something
in return.Around the world, there is a plethora of people who voluntarily give up their time to help
anyone in need. We have clubs which are purely volunteer based. Key Club is an organization
where students come together and help volunteer and give back to their community. Javier Mu-
niz. senior and president of the club, stated, "I think the best part of being in Key Club would be
helping others and getting a feeling of satisfaction from knowing you're doing something good."
Once a month Key Club-ers help out at the local Habitat for Humanity and either build or rebuild ,,
houses. "I love seeing students grow and become young adults who love giving back to their Hogar de Ninos
community," said Mr. Pincus the teacher sponsor of Key Club.
Although there are some people who like to just sit around playing the latest Call of Duty '
game, there are also people who like giving back to the world. No matter if it is going on mission
trips to Africa, the Dominican Republic, North Carolina, etc. or volunteering at a day care or nurs-
ing home, people just love volunteering because it makes them feel good.
Volunteering is a great way to get out into the community with your fellow classmates or
friends and have fun while giving back.
