HomeMy WebLinkAbout739-17 Amended Alice Hall Rental Policy RESOLUTION NO. 739-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, REPEALING RESOLUTION 609-09 REGARDING THE BUILDING RENTAL POLICY AND SETTING FORTH A BUILDING RENTAL POLICY FOR ALICE HALL COMMUNITY CENTER. WHEREAS, the Alice Hall Community Center is provided and maintained by the City of Zephyrhills for the public's use and for the public's benefit; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida,has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Zephyrhills to amend the Building Rental Policy to insure efficient and effective management of the facility; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, that the following rules shall apply to the rental of Alice Hall Community Center as follows; 1. The building shall not be used for denominational or congregational religious services. 2. Reservations for annual, semi-annual, quarterly or monthly events will be accepted up to one year in advance. 3. Use of the building for direct sales, the display of merchandise, or any commercial activity is prohibited. Fundraising events by non-profit entities are allowed. 4. The consumption of, or possession of tobacco products/alcoholic beverages is prohibited. 5. Loud music and/or bands is prohibited after 10:00 p.m. III 6. Government/public entities may use the facility at no charge if deemed for a community function. No discounts will be given for any other use. The following is the adopted fee schedule: Per hour charge$40.00,plus sales tax. Minimum of two (2)hours required for rentals Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. —9:00 p.m. Minimum of four(4)hours required for rentals Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. —9:00 p.m., plus a$100.00 set-up/clean-up fee. All reservations must be paid in full. A$25.00 fee will be charged for all returned checks. THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if any organization or person violates any of these rules or refuses to compensate the City for any damages arising out of the use of the building, sufficient reason exists for denying that organization or person use of the building in the future. This Resolution will become effective November 27th, 2017.
