Equipment used to provide heating functions as part of a combination system shall satisfy all stated requirements for the appropriate water heating category. Snow and ice-melting systems,supplied through energy service to the building,shall include automatic controls capable of shutting off the system when the pavement temperature is above 55°F,and no precipitation is falling and an automatic or manual control that will allow shutoff when the outdoor temperature is above 40°F. ❑ R403.9 Swimming pools,inground spas and portable spas(Mandatory). The energy requirements for residential pools and inground spas shall be as specified in Sections R403.9.1 through R403.9.3 and in accordance with ANSI/APSP-15.The energy , requirements for portable spas shall be in accordance with ANSI/APSP-14.
