WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills has determined that a large portion of the water and sewer infrastructure is reaching an age that requires replacement; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills has determined that to maintain positive revenue flows and keep up with replacement and growth needs,he water and sewer rates shall be adjusted according to Exhibit A in this ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, sitting in regular session that: Section 1. Recitals. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2. Amended Water Utility Rates. The water, sewer, and reclaimed water utility rates as outlined in Section 51.075 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Zephyrhills shall be replaced for utility bills rendered on or after March 1, 2018 with the rates set forth in Exhibit"A" attached hereto. Section 3. Annual Rate Index. Unless specified otherwise, the initial water and sewer utility rates shall be adjusted on March 1, 2018 to the index identified in Exhibit"A". Section 4. Annual Rate Adjustment. Following the initial March 1, 2018 increase, the Water and Sewer rates shall increase annually on October 1 of each year according to Exhibit A attached hereto. The City Manager or designee, is hereby authorized to promulgate appropriate City documents in order to implement the rate adjustment each year. Section 5. Repealer. It is declared to be the intent of the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, that if any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or provision of this ordinance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance shall be construed as not having continued the said section, subsection, sentence, clause, or provision and shall not be affected by such holding. . Section 7. Inclusion into the Code. It is the intent of the City Council that the provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part of the City of Zephyrhills code, and that the sections of this Ordinance may be renumbered or re-lettered and the word "ordinance"may be changed to "section," "article," "regulation," or such other appropriate word or phrase in order to accomplish such intentions.
