ORDINANCE NO. 563
AN ORDINANCE OF THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS,
FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 334 BY AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER
TO PLACE A LIEN UPON PREMISES ON WHICH THE CITY HAS MOWED OR
OTHERWISE REMOVED WEEDS OR GRASS WHICH CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE IF
THE OWNER, OF .THE PREMISES HAS FAILED TO PAY THE BILL WITHIN-TEN
(10) DAYS AFTER RENDITION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of.
Zephyrhills, Florida, sitting in regular. session!, that:
Ordinance No. 334, Section 5. Lien. , is hereby deleted-. and
shall henceforth read as follows:
Section 5. Lien. Charges for such weed remov-al,. may be a
lien upon the premises. Whenever a bill for such charges remains
unpaid for ten (10 ) days after it has been rendered, the City
Manager may file with the records of deeds of Pasco. County, a
statement of lien claim. This statement shall contain a legal
description of the premises, the expenses and costs incurred and
the date the weeds were cut, and a notice that the City claims a
•
lien for this amount.
111 Notice of such lien claim shall be mailed to the owner of
the premises if ' his address is known.
Provided, however, the failure of the City Manager to record
such lien claim or to mail such notice, or the failure of the
owner to receive such notice, shall not affect the right to
foreclose the lien for such charges as provided in...the ,following
section.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that all other Sections of.. Ordinance
No. 334 not here specifically amended, shall remain,. in- full force
and effect.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon third reading and
signing by the Mayor.
