AUTHORIZING PENALTY AMOUNT CHANGES BY FUTURE

00 SECTION 1. NO PARKING PLACES. At any time it shall
he unlawful to permit any vehicle to stand in any of the

following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict
with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a
policeman or traffic control device:
1. In any intersection.
II2 . In a crosswalk.
3. Upon any bridge or viaduct or the approach thereto .
4. Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within
thirty feet of a point of the curb immediately opposite
the end of a safety zone.
5 . Within thirty feet or 9 . 15 meters of a traffic signal,
beacon, or sign on the approaching side.
6. Within twenty feet or 6. 10 meters of any intersection
or crosswalk.
7 . At any place where the standing of a vehicle will
reduce the usable width of the roadway for moving ,'
traffic to less than eighteen feet.
8 . Within fifteen feet or 4. 57 meters of a fire hydrant.
9. At any place where the vehicle would block the use of
s a driveway. -
10. Within fifty feet or 15 . 15 meters of the nearest rail
Oil -.._ of a railroad grade crossing.
11. Within twenty feet or 6. 10 meters of the driveway
entrance to any fire department station and on the side
of the street opposite the entrance to any such station
within seventy-five feet or 22. 87 meters of such entrance
when properly sign posted.
12. On any sidewalk.

establish time limits for such parking.

14. Parking spaces for mobility handicapped
persons .
It shall be unlawful for any person without a mobility
handicap or not using a wheelchair to park in any space
reserved for such handicapped persons; provided, however,
that a- driver -of a ve-hicl-e ..used in_transporting such
handicapped persons may park in such spaces .
SECTION 2. PARKING AT CURB . No vehicle shall be
parked with the left side of such vehicle next to the curb;
except on one-way streets , and it shall be unlawful to
stand or park any vehicle in a street other than parallel
with the curb and with the two right wheels of the vehicle
within twelve inches of the regularly established curb line,
except that upon those streets that have been marked for
angle parking, vehicles shall be parked at the angle to the
curb indicated by such marks . On those streets without
curbs where parking is -permitted; vehicle"s "shall be parked
with no more than twelve inches of the vehicle extended onto
the pavement.
SECTION 3. VEHICLES FOR SALE . It shall be unlawful
to park any vehicles upon any street for the purpose of
displaying it for sale, or to park any vehicle upon any
business street from which vehicle, merchandise is peddled.
SECTION 4. LOADING ZONE . It shall be unlawful for
the driver of a vehicle to stand a passenger vehicle for a
period of time longer than is necessary for the loading or --- -
unloading of passengers , not to exceed three minutes , and
for the driver to stand any freight carrying vehicles for a
period of time longer than is necessary to load, unload and
deliver materials, not to exceed thirty minutes before the
entrance to a public building between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
except on Sunday.
1. Directly in front of the entrance to any theater
at any time that the theater is open for business .
SECTION 5 . ALLEYS . No person shall park a vehicle
within an alley in such a manner or under such conditions ` '''

as to leave available less than ten feet of the width of
,the roadway for the free movement of vehicular traffic, and
no person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle within an
alley in such a position as to block the driveway entrance
to any abutting property.
SECTION 6. CAB STANDS--BUS STANDS . No vehicle., .
other than a licensed taxicab shall be parked in any area
designated by ordinance as a cab stand; and no vehicle other
than a bus shall be parked in a place so designated as a
bus loading zone.
SECTION 7 . PARKING MOTOR VEHICLES ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
It shall be unlawful to park any motor vehicle on any private
property without the consent of the owner of the property.
SECTION 8 . SIGNS . The chief of police or any other
person authorized by the mayor and council shall cause signs
to be posted in all areas where parking is limited or prohibited,
indicating such limitations or prohibitions .
SECTION 9 . PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPACES DESIGNATED
FOR DISABLED PERSONS .
(a) It is unlawful for any person to park or leave
standing any vehicle in a stall or space designated for
physically handicapped persons , if immediately adjacent to
and visible from such stall or space, there is posted a sign
known as the international wheelchair symbol consisting of a
profile view of a stylized wheelchair unless the driver of the
car is disabled.
(b) As used in this article, "disabled" means either
having a physical condition- requiring the use of--a wheelchair,
artificial limb, crutch, cane or walker, or having a physical
disease making it difficult or impossible to walk more than
twenty-five feet without shortness of breath or danger of . . I
impairment of health. A certificate by a person licensed to - , ,

practice the healing arts in this state shall be acceptable
by the city as evidence under this article. t.,/, e:

(c) The provisions of subdivision (a) herein
shall apply to all off-street parking facilities owned
or operated by the city or by any privately owned or
operated parking lot.
(d) Any vehicle parked in violation of thisIII

may be towed from the premises by Order of the Chief. of
Police which towing shall be at the vehicle owner' s expense.
SECTION 10 . PENALTY.
(a) Any person, firm or corporation violating any
provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less than
Five Dollars nor more than One Hundred Dollars for each
offense; and a separate offense shall be deemed committed
on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues .
(b) The Chief of Police shall be authorized to
issue citations for violation which citation shall be 'for a
Five Dollar penalty amount, provided, however, the penalty •
amount shall be increased to Ten Dollars if not paid within
ten days of the notice of violation. This method shall
not be a limitation on other methods of collection or
Court proceedings which are available under applicable law
and for which the above amounts shall not be limiting.
(c) Penalty amounts to be cited by the Chief of Police
as immediately above stated may be modified by the City
Council by Resolution.
The foregoing Ordinance No. 299 was read and
passed on its first reading by the City Council of the City
of Zepphyrhills , Florida, on the 28th day of January ,
