Box 160387 Nashville,TN 37216-0387 I ' Lock Down Anchoring System for Wind Zone 2&3 Certification for the State of Florida Legacy Project No. 15-5177 Dear Mr.Oliphant: As you have requested and authorized, Legacy Engineering, Inc. has conducted load testing of the Lock Down Anchoring System for Wind Zone 2 and 3 certification,and has prepared the following report.The tests were performed on September 8-10,2015, in Ocala, Florida. Testing was performed using a Town Homes LLC manufactured home model 1386. Load tests were conducted using a.26'8" wide by 52' long double-wide Town Homes mobile home to determine ultimate capacity of the Home Pride Lock Down Anchoring System, for Wind Zone 2 and 3 applications. Load ratings are based on the HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, 24 CFR Part 3280. Section 3280.306 references section 3280.305 which specifies 27 PSF uplift and 39 PSF horizontal drag for Wind Zones 2 and 32 PSF uplift.and 47 PSF horizontal drag for Wind Zone 3.A safety factor of 1.5 times was applied in accordance with HUD 3280 and Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) Memorandum: Example Test Protocols for Mobile/Manufactured Homes Installation Components dated July 30, 2015. Load test results and design notes are included as a part of this report. This testing was witnessed by FLHSMV representatives James McGowan, Ronnie Crum, Terry Miller,Rick Longbrake,and Blaine Fort. The Home Pride Inc, Lock Down Anchoring System is rated for lateral and longitudinal loads in Wind Zone 2 and 3 as shown in the following report,when used and installed in accordance with Home Pride's instructions which are included in this report. Beam Clamp Assembly as es 83 N4 42 Lock Down Anchor Assembly Installation Instructions The Ground Anchor with Strut Attachment Cap will take the place of one perimeter anchor and align with a sidewall vertical strap.Install this anchor at a slight angle,not to exceed l 15 degrees. This assembly includes a stabilizer plate that is installed with the anchor and attached with a U-bolt and two nuts.The stabilizer plate should be driven into the ground �—s+dewan sbcv when the anchor is about 2/3 installed.Attach the stabilizer to the anchor shaft using the U-bolt and nuts then complete the install of the anchor until the strut attachment cap is flush to the round or slights recessed into the round,no more than Y.". The lateral arpn fasteners are to be installed tightly(nuts and bolts). The Beam Clamp assembly has two holes for the bolt and nut placement. Depending on the width of 'the beam,the corresponding hole should be used that pushes the front of the metal plate as close as possible to the upright of the beam. See the illustration on page 2,#5. Lateral struts should be installed in line with the center anchor head and attached at the top of the 1-beam. Lateral strut angles must fall within 10 degree minimum-60 degree maximum. Longitudinal strut angles must fall within 10 degree minimum-50 degree maximum. Predrilled holes are provided on the outer strut indicating placement. If the predrilled holes cannot be accessed, install the screws as close to the predrilled holes as possible-making sure they are tapping into the inner strut.
