HomeMy WebLinkAbout768-20 Participation in 02-06-2020 MAP Mtg RESOLUTION NO. 768-20 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS TO PARTICIPATE IN A JOINT MEETING OF THE MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION OF PASCO TO DISCUSS MATTERS OF MUTUAL INTEREST; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, and the Municipal Association of Pasco,which includes officials from Dade City,New Port Richey,Port Richey San Antonio and the Town of St. Leo, desire to participate in a joint workshop to discuss matters of mutual interest; and WHEREAS, Section 166.0213, Florida Statues, authorizes the governing body of a municipality to meet and discuss matters of mutual interest with the governing body of the county within which the municipality is located or the governing body of another municipality; and WHEREAS, Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, further states that such meetings may be held at any appropriate public place within the jurisdiction of any participating county or municipality, and requires that due public notice be provided within the jurisdiction of all participating municipalities and counties; and WHEREAS, Section 166.0213, Florida Statutes, further requires that the governing body of a municipality must first adopt a Resolution or Ordinance authorizing participation in the joint workshop. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, as follows: Section 1. Pursuant to Section 166.0213, Florida Statutes,the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, is hereby authorized to participate in joint meeting with the Municipal Association of Pasco on February 6, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. at Peace Hall—6431 Circle Blvd. —New Port Richey, FL 34652. Section 2. Notice of this meeting shall be duly advertised and official Association minutes shall be taken. Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective upon adoption by City Council.
