RESOLUTION NO.775-21
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS REQUESTING PASCO
COUNTY TO RENAME THE STREET OF EXISTING "SIMONS ROAD" TO
"OLD SIMONS ROAD"

WHEREAS, the City of Zephyrhills respectfully requests the Board of County
Commissioners of Pasco County,Florida to change the name of the existing"Simons Road"to
14-, "Old Simons Road." 1

WHEREAS, the City of Zephyrhills has sent out letters to the property owners along
Simons Road with no responses for or against the proposal;

WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County,pursuant to Sections
125.01(1) and 336.05, Florida Statutes, has certain jurisdiction over streets located within its
boundaries,including the authority to name and rename streets;
WHEREAS, Section 901.9(D)(4) of the Pasco County Land Development Code
authorizes the Board of County Commissions to name or rename any street by resolution;and
WHEREAS,the City of Zephyrhills is hereby requesting Pasco County to exercise their
street renaming authority in renaming the existing"Simons Road"between Fort King Road and
Shelby Lynn Way to"Old Simons Road"and keeping the new section"Simons Road."Existing
section and new section are shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit A.

• NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that:

1. City of Zephyrhills is hereby requesting Pasco County to exercise their street renaming
authority by issuing a Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Pasco County,
Florida renaming the existing"Simons Road"between Fort King Road and Shelby Lynn
