Material will set up in 15 minutes and form a watertight seal equal in strength to the wet well and influent pipe. Epoxy kits allow all inlets to be field fabricated and installed for the specific job conditions. F/FS/TSCV/LF/Wetwell 48-60-72 Pg 1 of 2,Rev 2005 i INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: UNDER GROUND UTILITY WORK AND EXCAVATION IS A SPECIALIZED TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION AND THESE INSTRUCTIONS CANNOT BE SUBSTITUTED FOR SKILL AND EXPERIENCE. USE ONLY EXPERIENCED UNDERGROUND UTILITY CONTRACTORS. OFF LOADING AND SETTING: Fiberglass wet wells are to be lifted by forks, slings or"chokers" and not by chains or cables. During off loading andl1 installation the wet well is to be protected from sudden drops or impacts with hard objects. Wet wells should not be rolled. Lifting lugs are provided for 72" diameter or wet wells over 12 ft deep- contractor shall us I e a spreader bar for handling larger wet wells. EXCAVATION: CONTRACTOR MUST FOLLOW ALL OSHA GUIDELINES RELATING TO EXCAVATION, SHEETING, SHORING AND TRENCH SAFETY. WETWELL MUST BE SET IN A"DRY" HOLE ON STABILIZED SOIL. INSTALLATION of ANCHORAGE and PLACEMENT (stabilized bedding required for all methods) There are many methods of installation or engineer may direct specific instructions for jobsite conditions. All methods require water(or mechanical forces) to be added to wet well to prevent floatation and bracing or sheeting to prevent shifting of the wetwell. All of these methods utilize the anti-float flange on the wetwell bottom as an embedment in the concrete Recommended method: direct bury of wetwell-compacted area must be larger than the wetwell Step 1) Bottom of excavation must be graded and have a compacted sub-base- either native soil or rock bedding- use 6" of compacted rock or stone where native soil must be undercut or removed. Step 2) Concrete to be placed on (the floor of the excavation, then the wetwell is set onto the wet concrete, the concrete pour is continued around the anti-float flange, utilizing the excavation walls as a "form"to insurethat the concrete is in contact with the anti-float flange and wall of the wetwell. Another acceptable method of installation is the use of bricks or blocks to hold the bottom of the wetwell up off the ground, which allows the wet concrete to flow under the bottom for full contact. Alternate method: Concrete base- built on site-engineer may direct the wetwell anti-float flange to be imbedded into a concrete base to form a "pre-cast concrete" hold down pad. Pad shall have lift hooks so the pad is lifted. The wetwell and pad is them placed on compacted sub-base per engineer's specifications. Consult the Engineer of record for balckfill requirements in areas of unstable soils. BACKFILLING-WET WELL- BACKFILL MATERIAL SHOULD BE PLACED IN 12" LIFTS AND COMPACTED TO A MINIMUM OF SOILI'MODULUS OF 700 PSI. SELECTION, PLACEMENT & COMPACTION OF BACKFILL MATERIAL IS CRITICAL TO CORRECT INSTALLATION. SOILS THAT ARE SUITABLE FOR PIPE BEDDING CAN BE UTILIZED. COMPACTION SHOULD BE TIGHT ENOUGH TO PREVENT ANY MOVEMENT OF THE WETWELL. THE CONCRETE ANTI- FLOAT BALLAST SHOULD BE DRY ENOUGH TO SUPPORT THE BACKFILLING AND COMPACTION PROCESS. BRACING & FORMS SHOULD BE REMOVED. BACKFILL-VALVE BOX-MUST HAVE(STABILIZED BEDDING, EQUAL TO THE COMPACTION FOR THE WETWELL. THE AREA BETWEEN THE VALVE BOX AND WETWELL SHALL BE HAND TAMPED. As the pumps run, lowering the liquid level, the sensor switches shall open in reverse order. The fourth float switch (FS4-HIGH WATER ALARM) shall activate only if the liquid level continues to rise, causing both the audible alarm and the light(visual) alarms to activate. The duplexor shall provide for time delay starting of the lag pump-preventing both pumps from starting at the exact same time. This feature prevents an amp rush that could cause a nuisance trip. In the event of a float switch failure-the DUPLEXOR shall provide operation to keep the pump station from overflowing by operating on any (2)float switches. 10. Battery Back Up (BBU) (OPTIONAL)-iVwhen required by local DEP or regulatory agency .. A 12-volt Battery Operated Alarm Charging(BOAC) system will activate when there is a power outage to the panel. During normal operation the BOAC system maintains a charge on the 12-volt battery. In a power outage, the battery operates a strobe light and horn signal for up to 24 hours. The alarm silence button will silence the horn and the strobe light shall stay on until the power is restored. 11. Miscellaneous Weatherproof schematic wiring diagram shall be permanently affixed to enclosure door. Terminal blocks shall be located far enough away from the enclosure side(s)to permit convenient connection of incoming wires per N.E.C. code. DESCRIPTION The DUPLEXER is a low cost SCADA ready pump controller designed to perform level control for duplex lift station applications. The level inputs can be connected to either four float switches or to a conductance probe. The Duplexer proyides a 10 second power- up start delay, 5 second lag pump delay; and duplex alternation. LEDs provide power on status, level input',status, pump call status, and high level alarm status indication. Pump 1&2 call and high level alarm relays are provided. HOA• and lead select toggle 0 0 0 0 0 0 switches are also provided. The high level status indication latches 2$5, upon high level, until reset by pressing the reset push-button (the EU relay does not stay latched). Level simulation is accomplished by 0 0 0 0 0 0 pressing and holding the push-button. Releasing the push-button allows the simulated level to return to normal. Connecting the serial port to a SCADA system allows the lift station to be Q O monitored and controlled remotely. By connecting a programming device to the serial port, a number of settings may be accessed to 3.60" customize the unit.
