The purpose of the engineering report it to evaluate the degree of structural concern and provide recommendations for the repair of the damaged area. See recommendations section of report. Figure 4:Metal Roofing Panel Loose Screws The inspection started on the south wall of the multi-family complex where the car crash occurred. This collision damaged a 152"section in length and 82"of damage in height of the concrete masonry unit(CMU)wall as per Figure 1 and Figure 2. T'here is a vertical crack in the CMU block above the temporary opening (this opening to be infilled to restored to its original condition with new CMU.. As a result,this has caused the door frame, leading into the bedroom,to start to collapse. In addition,there is cracking along the corner of the wall that can be seen in figure 7. Also, parts of the ceiling have been damaged due to the upward force of the sheet rock and wall studs pushing into the ceiling. The wall is in-between the two trusses above. No damage was observed to the trusses. After demolition contractor shall verify that no damage has taken place to the trusses. The exterior south facing front wall should be repaired using#5 rebar dowelled into existing foundation AND at bond beam with a minimum of 6"embedment with Simpson SET-XP epoxy. Apply in accordance with manufacturer instructions. 2. It is our professional opinion that#5 vert. wall reinforcement is placed every 4'max, w/ 3000 psi grout filled cells. There should be a 25"minimum lap splice with#5 vertical rebar. 3. It is advised that the damaged blocks shall be removed and replaced, and block painted to match existing. 4. We recommend that all exterior cracks should be sealed to prevent water entry. For sealing it is recommended to use a whole surface sealant equivalent to Seal-Krete. If after sealing should exterior cracks continue to develop to widths 1/8"or greater, contact this Engineer or other professional for further review. 5. R-5.7 insulation should be used on all exterior walls, IAW form R402-2020 6. We recommend using a steel anchor that is epoxied into the foundation at 8"minimum. Windows and Doors 7. It is our recommendation that lx6 p.t. header is used at all windows for curtain attachment and fastening to drywall. 8. precast sill w/ 1 x3 below 9. We recommend that 1/2" drywall on lx2 p.t. furring every 6" o.c., fastened every 6" o.c. on edge& 8" in field. 10. Contractor to supply Florida product approvals. contractor shall install new window and door in accordance to Florida product approvals. Exterior: Roofing Panels 1. Upon inspection,the existing metal roofing is in good condition,but we recommend that #10 x 2-in galvanized self-drilling roofing screws to be used to replace all screws within 10' of damage. a.
