ORDINANCE NO.: 1492-24
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, LEVYING THE MILLAGE RATE FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2024-2025 FOR THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, has timely advised the
Pasco County Property Appraiser's office that it proposed to levy a millage rate of 6.25 mills,
which is more than the rolled back rate of 5.9552 mills computed pursuant to Florida Statute
200.065(1) by 4.95%; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida did on September 9,
2024 conduct a Public Hearing and a second Public Hearing on September 23, 2024, and following
the second Public Hearing, did adopt a tentative budget of One Hundred and Five Million, Two
Hundred Sixty Six Thousand, Five Hundred and Two Dollars and No/100 ($105,266,502.00).
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida did advertise on
September 19, 2024, its intent to adopt a final budget and millage rate during a Public Hearing
held September 23, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills, Florida, did after receiving input
from the general public, adopt a final budget of One Hundred and Five Million, Two Hundred
Sixty Six Thousand, Five Hundred and Two Dollars and No/100 ($105,266,502.00).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Zephyrhills,
Florida, sitting in regular session that:
1. The millage rate to be levied for ad valorem taxes within the municipality of the
City of Zephyrhills for the 2024-2025 fiscal year shall be 6.25 mills.
2. This Ordinance shall become effective upon passage on the second reading and
signing by the Mayor.
