BE POURED WITHOUT FOOTINGS BY TRENCHING 6 INCHES INTO THE ROCK AND PINNING THE WALL TO ROCK
WITH #6 x T-0" LONG DOWELS AT 2'-8" ON CENTER, GROUTED INTO ROCK, EXTENDING V-6" INTO ROCK. NO
FROST PROVISIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS DETAIL. PROVIDE CONTROL JOINT IN WALL AT ANY TRANSITION

09 EXCAVATIONS SHALL BE DEWATERED TO A DEPTH OF AT LEAST 2 TO 3 FEET BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE
EXCAVATIONS TO ALLOW INSTALLATION OF FOOTINGS IN DRY ATMOSPHERE.
10 DIFFERENTIAL BACKFILL AGAINST FOUNDATION WALLS SHALL NOT EXCEED FOUR FEET UNTIL TOP BRACING
OR FRAMEWORK HAS BEEN IN PLACE FOR A MINIMUM OF THREE DAYS. CANTILEVERED RETAINING WALLS MAY

02 ALL LUMBER SHALL BEAR VISIBLE GRADE STAMPING.
03 ALL JOISTS BEARING ON MASONRY SHALL BE FIRECUT WITH MINIMUM BEARING LENGTH OF FOUR INCHES.
04 EXCEPT AS UPGRADED ON PLANS OR DETAILS, ALL LUMBER SHALL BE NAILED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
NAILING SCHEDULE IN TABLE 2304.9.1 OF CHAPTER 23 OF THE 2007 FBC.
05 JOISTS SHALL BE FASTENED TO STEEL GIRDERS BY EITHER OF TWO ACCEPTABLE METHODS AS FOLLOWS

i) A CONTINUOUS 2 x 6 NAILER PLATE SHALL BE BOLTED TO THE TOP FLANGE OF STEEL WITH 1/2 DIA.

II) A CONTINUOUS 2 x 4 NAILER PLATE SHALL BE BOLTED ABOVE THE BOTTOM FLANGE OF STEEL MEMBER
WITH 1/2 INCH DIAM. BOLTS AT 4'-0" ON CENTER. JOISTS SHALL BE NOTCHED ON TOP TO PROVIDE
CLEARANCE OF TOP FLANGE AND TO PROVIDE A SPACE OF AT LEAST 3/4" BETWEEN STEEL AND SUBFLOOR.
MAXIMUM DEPTH OF NOTCH SHALL BE 1/4 THE DEPTH OF JOIST. 20 GAGE METAL TIE OR WOOD SCAB SHALL
BE USED TO FASTEN OPPOSITE JOISTS TO ON ANOTHER.
02 DRAWINGS ARE DEVELOPED TO ILLUSTRATE SIZE, ASSEMBLY, RELATIONSHIP, QUANTITY, AND IDENTIFICATION
OF BUILDING COMPONENTS. DOCUMENTS WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH SPECIFICATIONS REGARDING EXACT
REQUIREMENTS OF PRODUCTS, INSTALLATION QUALITY, STANDARD EXECUTION OF WORK, AND
CLASSIFICATIONS.
03 ALL TRADES MUST REVIEW ALL CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL WORK
ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR TRADES IN THESE DOCUMENTS. DO NOT BASE SCOPE OF WORK ONLY ON A REVIEW

SHALL CONTRAST WITH THEIR BACKGROUND. ADDRESS NUMBERS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE OWNER.
08 DIMENSIONS SHOWN ARE TO FACE OF CONCRETE MASONRY UNITS, FACE OF STUD, MASONRY OPENING, OR
ROUGH OPENING AT STUD WALLS.
09 THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING AND SUBMITTING PRODUCT APPROVAL SHEETS AND DATA
TO THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT IN THE FORM THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUIRES FOR ANY PRODUCT

ACTUAL VALUE AS SPECIFIED BY A GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER AND NOTED ON THE DRAWINGS. FOUNDATIONS
AND SLABS ARE DESIGNED TO UNIFORMLY BEAR ON WELL COMPACTED, WELL DRAINED NON -EXPANSIVE
SOILS. A CERTIFIED SOILS ENGINEER SHALL REVIEW FOUNDATION DESIGNS, BUILDING LOADS, AND COMPARE
WITH SUBSURFACE SOIL INVESTIGATION RECOMMENDATIONS. SHOULD ON -SITE OBSERVATIONS SHOW THAT
FOOTINGS SHOWN HERE ARE NOT SATISFACTORY, THE ARCHITECT SHALL BE CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY FOR

06 NOTICE OF TERMITE PROTECTION. A PERMANENT SIGN WHICH IDENTIFIES THE TERMITE TREATMENT

GENERAL - STRUCTURAL
01 THESE STRUCTURAL PLANS HAVE BEEN PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE STRUCTURAL
CHAPTERS OF THE 2007 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE (FBC). ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THIS CODE AND ALL LOCAL REQUIREMENTS.
02 DESIGN LOADS:
A. SEE DESIGN CRITERIA ON STRUCTURAL DRAWING.
B. FLOOR LIVE LOADS HAVE BEEN REDUCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CODE FOR GIRDERS AND COLUMNS.
