GENERAL NOTES 1. THESE DWGS ARE THE PROPERTY OF GLOBAL CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC. AND SHALL NOT BE USED, REPRODUCED, OR ALTERED IN ANY WAY WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESSED WRITTEN CONSENT. THE ENGINEER WILL DEFINE ANY ABBREVIATION QUESTIONED UPON REQUEST. 10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY TEMPORARY BARRIERS, LIGHTING, COVERING, BRACING, SHORING, FIRE PREVENTION AND OTHER EQUIPMENT NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF ALL PERSONS AND THE PROPERTY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PERIOD OF CONSTRUCTION. 11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY EXISTING FINISHES AND/OR ANY ITEMS DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION TO MATCH THE ADJACENT EXISTING. 12. THE PLANS ARE NOT TO BE SCALED. THE PLANS AND DIAGRAMS SHOW RELATIVE LOCATIONS AND ACTUAL EXISTING LOCATIONS MAY VARY IN THE FIELD. 13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW EXISTING BUILDING SYSTEMS AND UTILITIES AS TO THEIR COMPLIANCE WITH THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE AND OTHER APPLICABLE CODES AND NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF ANY NON -CONFORMING ITEMS FOUND. 14. SECTIONS AND DETAILS SHOWN TYPICAL ON THE PLANS MAY NOT BE SPECIFICALLY NOTED AT EACH APPLICABLE LOCATION. HOWEVER, THESE DETAILS MAY BE APPLICABLE OR MAY BE REQUIRED IN MORE THAN ONE LOCATION. 15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE HIS CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULES, PLANNED POWER OUTGOS, NIGHTTIME WORK, WEEKEND WORK AND WORK IN OTHER ADJACENT TENANT SPACES WITH THE OWNER PRIOR TO PERFORMING THE WORK. 16. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPPLY THE OWNER WITH ALL EQUIPMENT MANUALS AND WARRANTIES. 17. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL GUARANTEE IN WRITING ALL MATERIALS AND LABOR FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE BY THE OWNER AND WILL AT HIS OWN COST REPAIR OR REPLACE ALL WORK OR DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE WORK WHICH BECOMES DEFECTIVE DURING THE TERM OF THE GUARANTEE. AND OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS MAY BE MODIFIED OR EXTENDED BY THE OWNER/CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT. 18. WHERE DISSIMILAR METALS COME IN CONTACT, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PROPER INSULATION TO PREVENT GALVANIC OR ELECTROLYTIC ACTION AS WELL AS VIBRATION OR NOISE TRANSMISSION. 19. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE OWNER WITH A SET OF AS BUILT DRAWINGS INDICATING ALL FILED CHANGES, ADDITIONS OR DELETIONS MADE DURING CONSTRUCTION. 20. ALL DEMOLITION SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE OWNER PRIOR TO PERFORMING THE WORK. 21. ALL NEW MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT SHALL HAVE U.L. (UNDERWRITER'S LABORATORY) APPROVED LABELS AS ACCEPTED BY LOCAL AUTHORITY. 22. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL HIS WORK WITH THE UTILITY COMPANIES TO ASSURE THAT IT COMPLIES WITH THEIR REQUIREMENTS. 23. ALL WORK PERFORMED UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL NATIONAL, STATE, AND LOCAL CODES HAVING JURISDICTION AND WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE UTILITY COMPANIES WHOSE SERVICES SHALL BE USED. 24. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS AND SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT IF ANY DISCREPANCIES ARE DISCOVERED OR DEVIATIONS FROM THE APPROVED PLANS REQUIRED BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK INVOLVED. ALL EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR STEEL SURFACES OF THE PANEL BOARDS SHALL BE PROPERLY CLEANED PRIMED AND PAINTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND COLOR. TRIMS FOR FLUSH MOUNT PANELS SHALL OVERLAP THE BOX BY AT LEAST 3/4" ALL AROUND. SURFACE MOUNT PANELS TRIMS SHALL HAVE THE SAME WIDTH AND HEIGHT AS OF THE BOX. TRIMS SHALL BE MOUNTABLE BY A SCREW DRIVER WITHOUT THE NEED FOR SPECIAL TOOLS. 4.4 PANEL BOXES: BOXES SHALL BE MADE FROM UNPAINTED GALVANIZED CODE GAUGE STEEL HAVING MULTIPLE KNOCKOUTS ON THE TOP AND THE BOTTOM EXCEPT WHERE NOTED OTHERWISE. BOXES SHALL BE OF SUFFICIENT SIZE TO PROVIDE A MINIMUM GUTTER SPACE OF 4" ON ALL SIDES. WHERE FEEDER CABLES SUPPLYING THE MAINS OF A PANEL ARE CARRIED THROUGH ITS BOX TO SUPPLY OTHER ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, THE BOX SHALL BE SO SIZED AS TO INCLUDE THIS WIRING SPACE. THIS WIRING SPACE SHALL BE IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM GUTTER SPACE SPECIFIED ABOVE AND THE LIMITING WIDTH MAY BE INCREASED ACCORDINGLY. AT LEAST FOUR (4) INTERIOR MOUNTING STUDS SHALL BE PROVIDED. ALL UNUSED HOLES IN THE BOXES SHALL BE PLUGGED WITH APPROVED INSERT CAPS. BOXES SHALL BE "STEEL CITY" OR EQUAL. 4.5 DISCONNECT SWITCHES: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL N.E.M.A. TYPE 1 DISC. SWITCHES FOR INDOOR AND N.E.M.A. TYPE 3R DISC. SWITCHES FOR OUT DOOR APPLICATIONS. ALL DISCONNECT SWITCHES FOR SERVICE CONDUCTOR ENTRANCES SHALL BE RATED AT LEAST 100K AIC. CIRCUITS SHALL BE FUSIBLE OR NON FUSIBLE AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS OR REQUIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER. 4.6 FUSE: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL USE DUAL ELEMENT, TIME DELAY CURRENT LIMITING, 100,000 AMP AIC RATED, CLASS RK-1 FUSES WHEN PROTECTING PANEL BOARDS AND TRANSFORMERS AND 100,000 AMP AIC RATED CLASS RK-5 FUSES WHEN PROTECTING MOTORS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE OR REQUIRED DIFFERENTLY BY THE MANUFACTURER. ALL FUSES IN ANY DISC.. SW SHALL BE OF THE SAME MANUFACTURER AND SHALL BE MANUFACTURED BY BUSSMANN, GOULD SHAWMUT OR EQUIVALENT. BEFORE PERMITTING OR START OF CONSTRUCTION: 1.
