A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHU.LS, FLORIDA,
DECLARING A PORTION OF DOWNTOWN
ZEPHYRHILLS AS AN AREA SUITABLE FOR
REDEVELOPMENT AND FINDESG THE NEED
FOR REHABBLTTATION, CONSERVATION, OR
REDEVELOPMENT OF SUCH AREA AND
PROVIDENTG AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City ofZephyrhills has determined that the real property
herein described and located in the downtown area of the City ofZephyrhills, Pasco County, Florida,
is hereby found to be a slum or blighted area and same being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest comer of the intersection of Sixth Street and Ninth Avenue and proceeding
Easterly along the Northern Boundaiy oflfae right-of-way line of Ninth Avenue until the Northeast comer
of the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Eight Street thence proceed Southerly along the Eastern right-of-
way Boundary luie of Eighth Street until the Southeast comer of the intersection of Eighth Street and
Seventh Avenue; thence proceed Easterly along the Southerly Boundary line of Seventh Avenue until the
Northeast comer of Lot 24, Block 135; thence proceed Southerly along the Eastern Bouiidary of Lots 1 3-
24, Block 135, until the Northeast comer of Lot 24, Block 152; thence proceed Easterly along the
Southern Boundaiy of the right-of-way line of Sixth Avenue until the Soufhea-st comer of the intersection
of Sixth Avenue and Tenth Street; thence proceed Southerly along the Eastern Boundary of the right-of-
way line of Tenth Street until the Southwest comer of Lot 10, Block 170; thence proceed Westerly along
the Southern Boundary of Lots 1-10 in Block 169, and contmuing along the Southern Boundary of Lots
1-12, Block 168, until the Southwest comer of Lot 12, Block 168; thence proceed Southerly along the
Eastern Boundary of the right-ofway of Eighth Street until the Southeast comer of the intersection of
Eighth Street and Third Avenue; thence proceed Westerly along the Southern right-of-way line of Thu-d
Avenue until the Northwest comer of Lot 1, Block 192; thence proceed Southerly along the Western
Boundary lines of Lots 1-12, Block 192, and the Western Boundary lines of Lots 1-12, Block 207 until
the Southwest comer of Lot 4a, Block 210; Ihence proceed Westerly along the Northern right-of-way line
of South Street until its intersection with Zephyr Park; thence continue Southward along the Eastern
Boundaiy line of Zephyr Park until its intersection with the Southern Boundary line of Zephyr Park;
thence continue Westward along the south Boundary line of Zephyr Park until its intersection with the
Western Boundary line of Zephyr Park; thence continue Northerly along the Western Boundary line of
Zephyr Park until its intersection with the Northwest comer of the State Road 54 right-of-way; thence
proceed Easterly along the North Boundary line of the State Road 54 right-of-way until the intersection
with the Southwest comer of Lot 15, Block 159; thence proceed Northerly along the Western Boundary
line ofLot 15,Block 159 until the Northwest comer of Lot 17, Block 159; thence proceed Easterly along
the Northern Boundary of Lot 17, Block 159 until the Northeast comer of Lot 17, Block 159; thence
proceed Southerly along the eastern boundary of Lots 16 and 17 of Block 159 until the North boundary
ofLot 11,Block 159; thence proceed east along the Northern boundary of Lots 11-15, Block 159 and
continumg along the North Boundary line of Lots 6-15, Block 158 and Lots 6-15, Block 157, until the
Northeast comer of Lot 15, Block 156; thence continuing Northward until the Northeast comer of the
intersection of Fourth Street and Sbcth Avenue; thence continue Easterly along the Northern right-of-way
line of Sixth Avenue until the Northwest comer of the mtersection of Sixth Avenue and Sixth Street;
tfaence continue Northerly along the Western Boundaiy of the right-of-way line of Sixth Street to the Pomt
ofBeginning.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City ofZephyrhills has determined that the rehabilitation,
conservation, or redevelopment of such area is necessary and in the best interest of the public, health,
safety, morals and welfare of the residents of the City ofZephyrhills.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City ofZephyrhills,
Florida, sitting in regular session, that:
1. That certain areas of land located within the downtown area of the City of Zephyrhills
as described above are hereby declared to be slum or blighted areas.
2. That such areas are appropriate for the Community Redevelopment projects pursuant
to the Community Redevelopment Act of 1969, as amended.
3. That the rehabilitation, conservation, redevelopment of such areas is necessary and
in the best interest of the public, health, safety, morals and welfare of the residents of the City of
Zephyrhills.
This Resolution shall become effective when approved by City Council and signed by the
President of City Council and the Mayor.
RESOLVED in regular meeting on this ^^ day of March, A.D., 1998.
