Web: "w b xci er rc?d.con
Per A` TM. C 1330 t\pe O, DENVER FOAM`z is a non-
assin<z backer rod used as a backinL, for elastomeric and
other applied caulkin« sealants. Denver Foamy- controls
the depth of the applied sealants and ensures cross -
sectional hour --Mass configuration.
Specfic Uses: For use in expansion lconstruction joints in
concrete and pre -cast concrete walls, floors, partitions,
bridge construction, parking decks, curtain walls. glazin,.,,
log home construction, hi<al1XNav construction, and
pavement maintenance.
Both hot and cold applied sealants can be used with
DENVER FOAMS per ASTM-D-5249-95
Open cell DENVER FOAMS has an advantage allowing
air to reach both sides of sealant offering a faster and more
uniform cure. This is especially true for one part non -sag
sealants. DENVER FOAMS can also be used in floor
joints with self leveling sealants. Care should be taken in
traffic areas where additional support is required.
- V Y LI \ I V/' 1
DENVER FOAMS is continuous lengths of flexible, round,
fabricated open cell polyurethane foam; yellow or black in
color and available in a wide range of diameters listed in
section 8 under packaging information.
DENVER FOAMS is also manufactured in half round
shapes referred to as DENVER FOAM HALF ROD. Most
commonly used in log home chinking applications, its unique
design compresses securely into the joint while providing a
flat chinking surface eliminating rounded backer rod
telegraphing
DENVER FOAMS HALF ROD can also be used in
control joints with shallow depths where conventional round
backer rod will not fit. Half Rod still allows for the proper
sealant hour glass configuration and offers all of the
advantages of traditional DENVER FOAMS. Please contact
for packaging information.
4k
DENVER FOAMS should be installed in construction
joints free from all contaminants, loose materials, and dry
and free from frost. Install under minimum 25%, maximum
80% compression to offer a good tooling base. Systems can
be installed without the fear of out -gassing associated with
polyethylene closed cell backer rods.
6. COMPATIBILITY
DENVER FOAM! is chemically inert and «ill resist oil,.
uuasoline and most solvents. Material is odorless and will not
stain. The open cell construction eliminates the out -;gassing
and cold flow problem associated with closed cell
polyethylene backer rods.

Upright and Pendent Sprinklers
Quick Response, Standard Coverage
General
TYCO Series ELO-231 FRB 11.2K Quick
Response, Standard Coverage, Upright
and Pendent Sprinklers (Ref. Figure 1)
are automatic sprinklers of the frangi-
ble bulb type. They are quick response
spray sprinklers that produce a hemi-
spherical water distribution pattern
below the deflector.
The 11.21K ELO-231FRB Upright and
Pendent Sprinklers were subjected to
full scale, high -piled storage fire tests
to qualify their use in lieu of 5.6 or
8.0 K-factor standard spray sprinklers
for the protection of high -piled storage.
Higher flow rates can be achieved at
much lower pressures with the 11.2K
ELO-231FRB Sprinklers, making
their use highly advantageous in high
density applications, such as the pro-
tection of high -piled storage.
For in -rack applications, an upright
intermediate level version of the
Series ELO-231FRB Sprinklers can
be obtained by utilizing the Series
ELO-231FRB Upright Sprinkler with
the WSG-2 Guard & Shield, and a
pendent intermediate level version
of the Series ELO-231FRB Sprinklers
can be obtained by utilizing the Series
ELO-231FRB Pendent Sprinkler with
the WS-2 Shield. If there is a possibil-
ity of the pendent intermediate level
version being exposed to mechanical
damage, a G-2 Guard can be added.
IMPORTANT
Always refer to Technical Data
Sheet TFP700 for the "INSTALLER
WARNING" that provides cautions
with respect to handling and instal-
lation of sprinkler systems and com-
ponents. Improper handling and
installation can permanently damage
a sprinkler system or its compo-
nents and cause the sprinkler to fail
to operate in a fire situation or cause
it to operate prematurely.
777-
_7--7
The Series ELO-231FRB Sprinklers
described herein must be installed
and maintained in compliance with this
document, as well as with the applica-
ble standards of the National Fire Pro-
tection Association (NFPA), in addition
to the standards of any other authori-
ties having jurisdiction. Failure to do so
may impair the performance of these
devices.
The owner is responsible for main-
taining their fire protection system

escutcheons will void all sprinkler war-
ranties, as well as possibly void the
sprinkler's Approvals and/or Listings.
NFPA 13 prohibits the installation of
112 inch NPT sprinklers with K-factors
greater than 5.6 in new construction.
They are intended for retrofit in existing
sprinkler systems only.

Series TY-B - 2.8y 5.6,, and 8.0 K-factor
Upright, Pendent, and Recessed Pendent Sprinklers
Standard Response, Standard Coverage
General

The TYCO Series TY-B 2.8. 5,6,
and 8,0 K-factor, Upright, Pendent.
and Recessed Pendent Sprin-
klers described herein are standard
response. standard coverage, decora-
tive 5 mm glass bulb -type spray sprin-
klers. They are designed for use in light,
ordinary, or extra -hazard commercial
occupancies Such as banks, hotels,
shopping malls, factories, refineries,
and chemical plants.
The TY-B Recessed Pendent Sprinkler,
where applicable, is intended for use in
areas with a finished ceiling. It uses a
two-piece Style 10 (1/2 in. NPT) or Style
40 (3/4 in, NIPT) Recessed Escutcheon.
The Recessed Escutcheon provides
1/2 in, (127 mm) of recessed adjust-
ment or up to 3/4 in. (19,1 mm ' ) of total
adjustment from the flush pendent
position. The adjustment provided by
the Recessed Escutcheon reduces the
accuracy to which the fixed pipe drops
to the sprinklers must be cut.
Corrosion -resistant coatinas, where
applicable, are utilized to extend
the life of copper alloy sprinklers
beyond what would be obtained
when exposed to corrosive atmo-
spheres. Although corrosion -resistant
coated sprinklers have passed the
standard corrosion tests of the appli-
cable approval agencies, the testing
is not representative of all possible
corrosive atmospheres, Consequently.
IMPORTANT
Refer to Technical Data Sheet
TFP2300 for warnings pertaining to
regulatory and health information.
Always refer to Technical Data
Sheet TFP700 for the "INSTALLER
WARNING" that provides cautions
with respect to handling and instal-
lation of sprinkler systems and com-
ponents. Improper handling and
installation can permanently damage
a sprinkler system or its compo-
nents and cause the sprinkler to fail
to operate in a fire situation or cause
it to operate prernaturely,
it is recommended that the end -user be
consulted about the suitability of these
coatings for any given corrosive envi-
ronment. The effects of ambient tem-
perature, concentration of chennoals,
and gas/chemical
Velocity, should be
considered as a minimum, along with
the corrosive nature of the chemical to
which the sprinklers will be exposed.
An intermediate level version of the
Series TY-B Pendent Sprinkler can be
obtained by utilizing the Series TY-B
Pencient Sprinkler in combination with
the Model S2 Shield.
The Series TY-B 28, 5.6. and 8,0 K-fac-
tor, Upright, Pendent. and Recessed
Pendent Sprinklers described herein
must be installed and maintained in

TO
• The contoured end of the fittings employs a reduced
outside diameter. Two major advantage's are
immediately apparent:
• The thinner wall on the contoured end permits welding
temperatures to be matched to the thickness of the
branch line or main thereby insuring complete
penetration without cold welds, weld roll -off, burn,
throvgh or excessive distortion-
• On smaller size-, a heavier section is maintained on
the threaded end of the fitting. This protects the threads
from dom age during shipping and handling prior to
installation as well as front weld distortion,
• Each outlet size I * and larger, whether male or
female threaded, cut grooved or beveled requires the
some hole size in the header pipe. This simplifies they
installation process
