Crawl space support jacks (SmartJacks) are specified for installation at the above referenced project. The support system is intended to stabilize and potentially lift the existing floor structure — reducing deflections in the floor and reducing pressure on existing soils. Load requirements for the Smart.lacks were calculated at areas identified by the contractor. See page 2 for engineering analysis assumptions and results. See pages 3 and 4 for design information and details for the crawl space support system. See page 5 for a layout of the floor supports on a footprint nfthe structure. Tothe best ofmyprofessional knowledge, belief, and opinion, the design ofthe crawl space support system meets the structural requirements of the 2020 Florida Building Code, Seventh Edition to the extent that it applies to our scope of work. The crawl space support system is not intended to be the primary support system for the structure, rather asupplemental stabilization system. Upon completion of the crawl space support system, the contractor shall supply engineer a log of the installed locations ofthe 3mardacks. Engineer will evaluate the installed locations and prepare acompletion report. AAJ / 2412 N 179thSL Chad A. Keller, P.E. Smart.lacks and supplemental girders do not support interior load -bearing walls or columns. 5. Contractor will install footings, SmartJacks, supplemental girders and all related components per the support manufacturer's installation instructions and according to their technical specs. 6. Contractor to select support base that adequately transfers load from Smardack to soil. 7. Supplemental support girders are restrained against lateral rotation at an interval equal toorless than the SmarUackspacing. O. SmartJacks supporting existing girders are not spaced farther than the original/existing supports; and the existing girder/joist's condition is adequate to support the new compression load. O. Supports are not placed onsinkholes. 10. New wood -frame girders/joists that replace existing girders/joists to be at least as large as the original member, from like material, and supports placed nofurther than original distance. 11. Where supplemental girders are specified, use S4x77ASTMGr. 50(or uqua|). 12. The design assumes the original structure was constructed of conventional means and methods. Analysis Notes and Results: 13. Interior floor load isassumed tonot exceed 5Sps nominal load (1SpsfDL+4Ops LL), per Code. 14. Smart.lacks are designed to support axial compression load only; with a max height of T-O". 15. Maximum total load onSmarUackis 5,20X0 bs. 16.
